NBL1 Conferences Quality

Will players be looked at differently if they play say in NSW-East vs if they played the in the VIC-South conference of the NBL1 ?

NSW East will certainly not be as competitive as NBL1 South.

That's about right 468. Central is really unknown as is West. South has always been the best 2nd tieer comp in seabl / NBL1. Anyway does it really matter? Unless the NBL pay for a National Championship final at everyone's seasons end it's all speculation. THat's why SA withdrew from the SEABL, WA never been in it, and Qld were the last ones to win the National Title I recall. East havent been in SEabl for ever. Waratah is the weakest of all leagues.

It will even put over time, especially when the new teams are added to the south conference

WA will be the benchmark

Followed by the South conference and Queensland.

Should we compare the top team in each conference or the average team? The national tournaments are a comparison of the teams participating, not the leagues they came from.

Do we award a "best conference" title based on who won the NCAA championship? It tends to be related to depth of teams.

#538 you clearly have watched much outside of WA have. WA is well behind the top 2 being QBL/NBL1 South

I've already heard some clubs upping their budget for the NBL1 rebranding with a few clubs at NSW and SA heavily recruiting

Agree with Perthworld however I believe North will be very even with South and all conferences will even up over a couple of years.

How did Mt Gambier go last year in South Australia?

So they didn't dominate Central despite being one of the best teams in SEABL for past decade or so. Maybe top half of Central conference is stronger than what people think!

Mt Gambier spent significantly less on their men's squad last season compared to the year before in SEABL. Don’t get carried away with the strength in NBL1 Central

Yes the gap year for the Mount would give them a chance to spend less and still make good money for home games. It's a toss up between SA and WA as to who should be 2nd bottom.

I believe the Mount lost players because they were in limbo with no place to play until Adelaide threw them a lifeline. By the time they were officially in most players had signed elsewhere and Adelaide teams had a restricted players list that they couldn't pick from.
But creating a women's team in next to no time and making finals was a shining light for the club.
