NBL1 2021

QLD - North (Maroon) 13 + teams each m/w
NSW/ACT - East (Teal Blue) likely 10+ Teams each
VIC/TAS - South (Navy Blue) 18+ teams each
SA - Central (Red) 10+ teams each
WA - West (Yellow) likely 10+ teams each

End of season finals - maybe top 8 teams?

NBL1 central will never have more than 10 teams. Last year with MTG was an anomaly. Fuckers are so backward no one new will ever get in.

Darwin are run by muppets who don't follow and rules or process anyway which is why a lot of sub standard imports go there to play.

The end goal is to have 24 teams in 2 x 12 team conference in Vic/Tas

That would be over 60 teams total. They should make it total 64 teams and rank them all into a bracket tournament at the end of the season. Would be awesome.

I like this idea. Not sure it's affordable, but would be great if they could do it.

Wouldn't do that, likely take 3 from south, 2 from north, 1 from central, 1 from west, 1 from east. 8 team final series.

They will take 2 from each

The talent is not balanced yet, maybe in time. South is the best league followed by north, central, west, east
That's why 3 from south

2 from each would be 10, needs 8 or 12

But what does this actually mean?

NBL(1) is taking over management of the (Senior) state leagues?

What's the benefit??

Will WA scrap their salary cap and let it be a free for all like other states? Or will the whole nbl1 have a salary cap.
Would have to be one of the two. Having one conference with a restriction and others not, would be a pretty compromised 'national' Compeititon.

The next thing will be consistent points of emphasis across the country. For example NBL1 South play the old tech foul rule of 2 + possession play off the ring

Yep it was. Unsure now if new teams come in.
Someone else said "his is exciting! Great to have a national club championship again" That will never happen afaik. The SEABL had one of them and it petered away. Too expensive when all teams have to pay their own way to where ever it is held.

What new teams entering NBL1 central? Western Magic, UniSA? What a load of crap. Took special circumstances for Mt Gambier to enter, doubt any rural teams would have the finances in this climate to meet requirements and teams won't be paying themselves to travel to Whyalla or places like that.

An npp team would make sense for each conference. Don't want teens sitting on the end of a bench.

Let what ever you are talking about in. Pay the $30k (each) and you and the Women's team are in.
