Conner Henry Entering Australia?

Ive asked a few times on the 36ers social media accounts, but they are really poor in communicating.

Can somebody shed some light on how/when Conner Henry will be granted access to enter Australia? Are the 36ers able to organise a specialised clearance? Or are they juts banking on the borders reopening sooner than later and he can start his job?

Pretty sure it wouldn't be too difficult to enter on some kind of essential employee status, then he’d just serve a two week quarantine per anyone else.

The quarantine wouldn’t be COVID-related though, it would be enforced to get rid of the previous 36ers stench.

So he comes over in July? And that is on a specialised visa? Has he already been cleared for this? Curious to see if the 36ers have done their due diligence on this process. Essential worker visas are hard to prove. Not just a click of a button thing at the moment.

Anon, not sure if you fully understand how these things work at the next tier of networks.

A simple call or 2 from Kelley behind the scenes to some people in power would have been all the due diligence needed. Mark my words if anyone can get here Conner will be able to.

The irony of 652 stating that someone else doesn't understand how things work, and then goes on to write that absolute garbage.

Must be nice living in your fantasy land. Keep being you, champ.

You would think he would have to be here for free agency.

Anyone can get into this country if you know the right people.

Essential worker visas aren't difficult to obtain.

Do any of you Muppets know anyone that's entered the country on an essential work visa that isn't medical in nature since Covid19 started? It's not like crossing state borders, it's coming from a country experiencing enormous infection rates to just come and coach a game in a league that might not even play. I assume he wants family and maybe assistant and their family as well.
I wonder how many other Americans will be coming here as sport is essential.

As the initial poster on this topic, I ask the same question as the above post. Who's got in on an essential visa since this started? Kelley has no pull, he’s a local rich bloke, running a mediocre basketball team, he doesn’t get international borders cleared with a phone call lol

Lol at whoever is bleating about Henry coming from America.

I've been working with international entries for the last 6 weeks. It won’t be difficult for him to get to Adelaide if he undertakes necessary steps, which I’m positive he will. End of story.

Ahhh to the anon who has been working for 6 weeks with international entries. I need a chat, I have people I'm desperately trying to get cleared into Australia. If it’s so easy, please explain how? I’m serious, any info will help.

The fact our State Government won't allow our footy teams to travel interstate without quarantining on return, doesn't augur well for a coach to fly in from overseas currently. Or in fact for the Sixers to play at all. Things may change in time obviously but as it stands now.......

how many international flights are coming into Adelaide at the moment?

Last I checked there were no direct flights from the USA. So this would mean anyone coming from the USA would have to quarantine in Melb or Syd for 14 days and then fly to SA and quarantine for another 14 days.

unless anon has a way around that.

You don't need to fly through Sydney or Melbourne to get to Adelaide from the US.

#708, you say you've been doing it for 6 weeks. If that is true it would be for Australians returning to the country because of Covid19. This is the official announcement so you are the biggest wanker trying to big note him or herself.

From Friday 20 March 9pm AEDT (6.00am EDT) Australia will NOT allow the entry of people who are not citizens, permanent residents or their families.

From 11:59pm AEDT 28 March, all travellers arriving in to Australia from overseas will go into monitored quarantine in hotels or other designated facilities for 14 days, before they can go home. Self-isolation will be at your city of arrival into Australia. See https://pm.gov.au/media/update-coronavirus-measures-270320

Immediate family members who are not permanent residents must apply for an exemption if they wish to travel to Australia during this period. Detailed information about the exemptions is available

So which is it 708, going to be easy for him like all the other internationals you've helped get in the last 6 weeks. Or are you just a people smuggler sending them over in leaky boats? Interested to hear your comeback.

The hard on is for potentially exposing the 36ers hierarchy for being completely stupid for signing an international in the current climate. I'm far from a nbl coaching standard lol I just have zero faith in what’s left of the 36ers. Nothing against Conner.

Told the club need to apply to Government to have him allowed in the country as the VISA program at the moment is effectively closed and no longer processing VISA's at the moment.

Expect it will get approved with intervention from the minister alot like the NZ Warriors guys did but the club will have to make that application which you'd expect they would.

The hard bit is family as generally its impossible at the moment to get a visa for family members to come into Australia as Henry would get an individual exemption but they don't extend these to family members.

Family normally two weeks later, it can still be done. Just because it's been released by the federal government doesn’t mean it’s always accurate, look at the ruby princess, came in well after lock down laws, the afl au pairs a while back.

Ruby Princess? All the more reason it's going to be difficult for him to get in the country. Would'nt mind knowing who his assitants are going to be. Might find themselves very busy.

792, are you 708? Still pretending you know something, Ruby Princess FFS.
Rules haven't even been written for foreigners to come here yet a magical 2 weeks later normally has been plucked out of the air for families to arrive, nothing normal about this dumbass!

Mater nothing to do with Ruby Princess...the government aren't issuing new visa's for travel for foreign unless its signed off by the minister!

hence they might get Conner into the country if they get special approval but have no chance of getting the family in at the present Covid alert levels!

So with the federal government today granting special exemptions for 6 netball imports to come to Australia from Europe , uk and America I guess that puts this argument to bed , that imports will not be coming to Australia or the coach , guess exemptions are being granted unlike what the poster above are saying there stating from "reliable sources “
