Were the Kings robbed?

Top of the leaderboard. Could well have come back to win it. Made the hard decision to put players health first. An honourable move.

I think the Kings deserved it.

Regular season is irrelevant. They chose not to speed the series up. They pulled the pin when they couldn't win. They aren't deserving of anything, even they admit that.

It was a No when they bailed on the series when they were losing.

It was a No 4 days ago when the NBL made the correct decision.

It was an even bigger NO when the whole story came out out about the Kings not wanting to alter the series.

Move on with your life.

If the Kings were robbed, it was themselvesthat did the robbing by not taking up the options listed by the NBL.

The NBL offered then Games 4 and 5 in Sydney and the Wildcats even agreed.

What more concessions (reasonable ones) could the leagu e have offered Sydney?

Deserves has nothing at all to do with it. Perth were ahead in the series, therefore they got the biscuits. End of.

Not at all happy about it, but it is the right decision.

I think they should have given it to kings because Sydney has a larger population then perth so it would have made more people happier if Sydney had been awarded the championship in this time of need

If anyone was robbed it was the Breakers.

Game gets canned and they could have increase their %. Melbourne slides into finals like Steven Bradbury as a result.

if the Breakers got into the top 4 they could have won it just as easily as the others

A lower scoring game is worth more in terms of percentage than a higher scoring game. Breakers need to stop citing that.

I believe the persons to blame for NZ not making the playoffs are 1) Jordan Ngatai and 2) Dan Shamir for giving him court time at the end of that game.

"They were clearly the better team throughout the season"

Just not against the team they were playing and training in the finals series.

Might have been different too if the NBL had played a balanced, 32 game regular season rather than an unbalanced, 28 game season. Let's put an asterisk against 'the better team throughout the season' due to that, perhaps?

I'd rather win the higher scoring 101-80 game than the lower scoring 82-81 game.

Kings also had a very favourable draw in the early rounds, which helped them get to 11-1. To then finished 20-8 shows that they were fortunate early on, and then pretty mediocre as the season went on. Lots of talent, not "clearly" the best at anything.

Nope. Kings were offered to play best-of-3 and declined because they didn't want an away elimination game. Offered to speed up Game 4 and said they wanted more rest.

No, as the Wildcats would not have given up being 2-1 down like the Kings did, who weaseled their way out of the series by declining all options presented to them. They gambled on it being declared void and lost. Smith thought he was smart playing the system but instead was exposed as being devious and dumb.

NBL handled it excellently given the circumstances. Well done LK.

If anyone was robbed it was Perth.
They were looking forward to whipping Bogut's arse, 4:1, then cutting down the nets on Sydney's home court.
Then returning to Perth for their promised "Members Only" celebration.

When the NBL resumes, Perth should be allowed to ceremonially cut down Sydney's nets before their first game in Sydney.

I can also confirm that Perth have struck a deal with Robern Menz, and free bars will be handed out before the first Sydney game in Perth.
