still ugly - Sydney need to box out or they are gaaaawn

You said it Scout.
Kings awful. Getting killed on the glass. Shooting all round poor.
Bogus continues to stand under hoop defensively doing zero.
He's no threat.
George

Finals or not. Kings scoring in the 1st quarter is pathetic.
Ware playing hero ball. 3 pointers not even close. 0/5. Show pony.
Finals man, drive to the hoop.
Pressure the defense.
Long should get more minutes, especially after he hit a couple early
Sydney not playing well but lucky for them Melbourne shooting has been poor. Should be up a lot more than 4.
George

Ware crying as usual. Bogus is rubbish. United should be up by more. This could get ugly for the Kings.

Sydney would play alot better if they with the legal limit of 3 imports.

Kings defensively poor. United shooting at will.
United scrambling in defense. Nothing easy for the Kings in offence.
Simple to fix.
More effort on defence Kings & drive to the hoop on offence. Stop just shuffling the ball outside.
Bogus needs to get out from under the hoop & make it difficult for the shooters instead of just waiting to catch the ball coming out of the net

Both teams playing pretty poor (Trimble and McCarron/Shea on D are the exceptions), but it's only halftime and Aylen already has a couple of the biggest howlers I've seen from him yet.
Kicking your leg into the defensive player when shooting should be an offensive foul. Seen way too much of it from Trimble tonight.

Whats the record for most points by a bench player in the NBL finals? Trimble must be close

You know Trimble is shooting 3's & you still don’t defend it. That’s kiddies defence.

LV takes off Trimble and Long and they give up a 16ot lead because if it. LV needs to be sacked.
What a suprise sydney make their run with lazy, selfish bogut on the bench. Only way sydney can beat perth is if they do what golden state did in the finals and started not playing bogut at all. With him they are just too slow and lazy
Good to see you here Gus3232. Man that is seriously one of the biggest chokes I have ever seen.
The Melbourne United Crumbles. Cough, cough, choke.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Jeez. That hurts!
United will lose the 2nd one by 25 now...
What was that? Vickerman leaving his best players on the bench until it was too late. Goulding chucking up rushed hero shots when Melbourne should've been using the clock. Dear oh dear.

Massive choke job and massive coaching blunder by Vickerman. As much as I like him as a coach he needs to admit that he cost his the team the game.
Taking Trimble off and then letting Goulding & Barlow start jacking up wild threes was the only way the Kings could get back in it.

That was entertaining in an interesting way. Melb decide to take off the only guys scoring for whatever reason.
Sad when the half time fan shooter is actually better than most of the players

Have to say, haven't heard a Sydney crowd make that much noise since the days of Goorj. Don't know how it sounded on TV, but it was something else in person.

Melbourne shit the bed and ruined their chance to make this a series. They started jacking up garbage aimlessly, quick into a shot clock as though the clock was their enemy while it was actually their friend - up by fucking 16!
Melbourne is done now. They just don't have the depth or gears Sydney has. Sydney in 2.
Perth Wilburs
Years ago
Your up in the 4th. Use the shot clock, milk the clock. Don't jack up a shot with 20 seconds left. Idiots Melbourne.
Sydney are a liability with Bogut on the court, lazy to guard outside paint so Long heaves the 3 pointers.
Power
Years ago
Not solely Vickerman's fault. Too many heros not enough discipline. Not enough hunger. They need a ground up rebuild
At the 2 minute mark there was an incorrect call on a back court violation. Melbourne did not have control of the ball it was stolen by newley then thrown back into play...but the shot clock stayed as if melbourne had the ball. Then Sydney score 2 to bring it within 1.
Melbourne United is having the same drama that Adelaide had, ego city.

Sheesh, Didi +27 in 16 mins, Bogut -16, Kicks +19. Sorta backs up how it felt during the game.
Goulding proved to be the spud everyone knows he is. Selfish prick.
What about Goulding's basketball IQ? Jacking up all that rubbish in the last 5, with the shot from nearly half court with time on the shot clock to top it off...

United threw that away. They were so good for so long, committed, focused, until the last 6 or 7 minutes.
Had it in the bag, then started throwing up ill advised shots and dumb turnovers. Completely lost the plot. The crowd got involved and United could no longer handle the semi final pressure.
I think United's given them their best shot. Trimble and Long were superb. Ili shut Casper down. And still, Sydney came back.
Sydney are best team in the history of the NBL on paper. They didn't live up to that tonight, but I think we'll see a sweep now.

Just watched replay . You're right
There was also the Long continuation that should've been awarded.
Louzada got away with multiple fouls in the last couple of minutes. Over zealous D and United guards weren't allowed to cut- he was illegally blocking their path on multiple occasions.
Still, that's what happens when the crowd gets involved.

It's probably them or United of 2018. Those are the two from recent memory who stand out
Starting 5 has no weak links. Excellence all round. Offensively and defensively. Lisch is the weakest player!
The bench has Newley who would start on most NBL teams, plus Didi, Moller and Kickert. It's a helluva list now they're finally all assembled

It was like watching a car crash. So good for three quarters all they needed to do is use the clock to their advantage to secure the win. They start show boating and the coach leaves his two best players on the bench.
Unbelievable choke one for the ages.
Like yesterday's game you can throw all the stats refs decisions out the window, Cairns yesterday and Melbourne today make there free throws and they go away winners.
Enjoyable game just for the suspense, not the quality of yesterday’s but still great. The nbl is in a very strong position, 13100 at a kings game, it’s unheard of and is certainly the number one summer sport in Sydney now. Loving every minute.
Taylor isn't the best player on the team but you can see the team needed him out there ... it’s the little things he does that helps the team win games, his energy, defense and ability to take the pressure of Casper load. Running into screens and chasing Melo all night caused him to look sluggish. The way he’s been playing these last 10 games, I promise you they’ll bring him back to the lineup
LV you might want to read the rules around possession and control. Newley taps the balll backwards stopping it from going out of court. He does not take possession of the ball thus there is no change of control or 24 reset.

One thing for sure. People probably going to stay till the end for the next few games.
(They start show boating and the coach leaves his two best players on the bench.)
Just the same as Adelaide. Ego town.
Melbourne led by 16 when he brought Long and Trimble back on, Weaver left Bogut on the bench and the rest is history. They have struggled defensively all season. Goulding and Trimble can't survive in the same team, some tough decisions ahead for Melbourne with their imports, starting with Prather.
Trimble came back on with 2 minutes remaining - too late.
Trimble was great offensively but again there is two ends of the court, still not great on man on man D and struggles on team D. Leading by that many it wasn't that bad an idea keeping him off, playing Barlow instead of Kidd was probably not the smartest though.
Someone told me that if Melbourne just took shot clock violations for the last six minutes they probably would've won.
