Kings 1st team in NBL history to top ladder all season

Congratulations to the Kings! Very dominant considering they rested their players all year too. Should be fresh for a playoff run

Not true. The 2017/18 Melbourne United also had four imports.

I think we will no more about Cairns this weekend, go into Melbourne and beat United will tell us they are the real deal. Sydney will suddenly have Bogut, Moller, Didi back, so plenty of depth. Cook, Moller and Tate is a defensive juggernaut, long, fast and athletic and can guard 1 to 5. Lisch back is also a great positive. If kings can get the offensive side of there game going they should be tough to beat.

It's been a massive season of 1sts for the Kings:
1st team in NBL History to spend over $4M on salaries.
1st team to cheat the Next Stars program.
1st team to cheat the system on injury replacements.
1st team to massively exceed the 5-man cap
1st team to be on top of the ladder all season and crash out in the semis.

Way back in 1986. Lol.
Kings have lead the way but as others have alluded to it won't mean anything unless they win the title.

hahaha, I don't know if the fix is in but I can tell you that the Kings won't be getting any help from the league. They are pinning their hopes on Cairns. It won't be announced til after the playoffs but the NBL is poised to hand Sydney a massive fine. I don't know the details but it has something to do with salaries, and their failure to disclose. I can also tell you that JL is secretly pissed at Sydney over what is considered bad faith regarding Taylor.

Perth logic: we beat Sydney 3-1, don't need home court we’ll win.

Fails to realise they have cairns and lost 1-2 including a whopping at home!

Perth logic: Sydney have a 4 million dollar budget.

Pays out Hunt and signs an NBA guy for $50k per month

Likewise anyone without a team in the top four going for Sydney.

Very good recruiting. I find it amazing that they were able to add Xavier Cooks to what was already a very deep and talented roster. In retrospect it's a surprise others didn't chase him very hard and offer a better package. He would have been a perfect fit for United with Barlow more suited to a bench role how and Long needing a solid rebounding 4 to help out.

Let's give Kings some props for turning it around from the Gaze era.

Credit should be due considering the following :
- They found a much better coach.
- They found Tate.
- They took Ware off their biggest threat.
- Bruce has flourished.
- They successfully got Lazada as a next star and Didi is very servicable.
- They recruited Xavier Cooks who is playing very well in Bogut's load management time.
- They got Deshon Taylor who is shooting the lights out right now.

Setting aside the perceived salary and the 4 imports issue, they have done the RIGHT things to win.

Sixers fans...don't you wish our management would do HALF the above?? Just half?

[He would have been a perfect fit for United with Barlow more suited to a bench role how and Long needing a solid rebounding 4 to help out.]

Spot on, that's the 2nd Sydney signing that United should've got.

Bogut being the first.

If they'd got Bogut they would've won last year, and if they'd then kept Casper and signed Cooks they'd be going back to back.

Such is life!

Honestly what is the point of dreaming of who you want to insert into last year's line up.

Why stop at Bogut?

If only Kyrie was at Melbourne, this year they would have got DeAndre and KD35 to come as well.

Bogut is a Melbourne boy, and it's on the public record that he met with United before meeting with Sydney

Hardly pie in the sky stuff to suggest he could've well ended up with United!

Cook came in and did what Moller was doing, Cook took a few more boards and Moller a few more points. Both play D, are exceptional athletes with high IQ,I'm hoping they get out there together, kings D will enormous. United had Moller and he helped win them a premiership, only get less minutes the second year, he was allowed to leave United and Weaver pounced. Melbourne don’t like younger players or giving them a go, strange.

Only reason our butts hurt is because we spend so much time shitting on the competition.

Seriously dude, you need to come up with a new angle. We've won 4 out of the last 6 titles, and are in the mix again. We're probably the least salty or butthurt fans in the history of the league.

I think we'll take Cairns, but I won't be too disappointed if we don't, because gees I'd like to see Cairns whup Sydney's arses in the GF.

While salaries are talked about:

"In April of last year, Kelly revealed a group of wealthy sponsors put together an offer, including cash outside of the salary cap, to help retain reigning club MVP Trimble, but it was still not enough."

“ Australian hoops broadcasting doyen John Casey revealed during Saturday night's game against Adelaide that Cairns had offered the biggest contract in club history to retain American point guard Machado.”

Kings will do the Collingwood cobbliwobbles.
Bogut and newly to struggle over 5 games. Perth with younger legs to strike again. Cairns depth will hurt them.
If NZ can make they are my dark horse.
Could be the tighest most exciting series ever. Hope goes max games.
