Keanu Pinder

On the back of the NBL Indigenous round does anyone know how Keanu Pinder is going in Poland? His name is never mentioned alongside Landale and Brock Motum, granted he's playing in an inferior Euro league.

Does he have NBL aspirations? Could a team not called Melbourne Utd, Perth or Sydney afford him?

There's lots of guys like that in Europe who could play nbl, but the money and new experiences are overseas.

Pinder certainly a good enough athlete to play in the nbl....couldn't be any worse than half the dudes playing in the league but guessing the money is way better in Poland.

For players like Pinder, the NBL is always there as a "last" option.

you all are overrating him, Wildcats had a look last season and didnt sign him
his stats at college and in Poland are poor

Cats maybe turned him down, but talent to money ratio most likely an issue. Just because the cats say no doesn't mean he isn’t nbl talent.

just because his name is Pinder doesnt mean he's nbl talent!
his stats suggest otherwise and he doesnt produce much
2 pts 2 rbs at college
6 pts 6 rebs at poland

Yeah I was going to say his college career was a massive disappointment. Thanks for digging up the stats. I guess it didn't take long since there are so few of them.

Poland is one of the poorest league in Europe, and he'd earn more money playing nbl than in Poland. Some people got stop guessing and do some research. He’s not playing in Poland because he’s a star.

Got to remember that we have a two tier system in the NBL. You can pay your top 6 anything, but the bottom five are capped.
So yes, Pinder would be better than many of the bench scrubs, but he'd have to take a very low salary.

Plus gotta be honest, it must have been tough being Pinder's son. The idea of playing in the NBL is probably not as big a dream as it might be for others.

Jack White

Sunday Dech
Keanu Pinder
Add it to the list

^ That doesn't mean they are not good.

Humphries will be the highest paid local next season, so I'm expecting MVP level performances.

Dech is a good defender with an OK shot and is rising.

Being a WA guy I would like to see him at Wildcats but we need Kay or an import 4/5.
My guess for Pinder is Sydney, United or Cairns.

Yes, supposedly Pinder has received multiple offers and looks likely to join the NBL.

What role does he actually play??
I believe in College he was a SF? But at his size, and since we seem to prefer outside shooters, I'd imagine he'd be a 4 in this league?

Santa suggested he could play the 5, but I think we showed last year with Hunt that doesn't work. (Unless your backup centre is a big unit.

No, he's not a replacement for Kay, but unfortunately unless we go Marquee hunting and sign Motum or Landale, Kay is irreplaceable.
We'd have to use the import slot.
(And again, I guess we could do that, if we find a Marquee SF.)

I strongly believe that Nick Kay won't be back.
You see last season I made the mistake of buying a Nick Kay top, and in our family that is the kiss of death.

Since you apparently haven't reached that point yet in Primary School, allow me to introduce you to the Question Mark.
According to one explanation it supposedly is derived from the Latin, Quaestiō, which was abbreviated by a Q over an O, and this in time became the modern symbol.
It is used most correctly to indicate that the preceding phrase is a question, rather than a statement. It can also be used more loosely to indicate decreasing levels of certainty.
Whilst more theatrical than grammatical, the use of double question marks clearly indicates that I am asking a question to which I do not know the answer: "What role does he actually play??

I do not, and have never, claimed any level of expertise on College basketball. In fact when the subject has come up, I have made my lack of familiarity clear.
As such rather than express completely unfounded opinion, I have firstly asked the question, and secondly done what anybody should do, which is to consult reference material.
Now given the immensity of the internet, I cannot claim to have consulted every possible reference, but those I have list him as either a SF, G/F, or simply "Forward".

NB: I also feel obliged to point out that your statement "nope never played that role", without any qualification, implies you have watched every game he has ever played.
Since that is obviously not the case, we can only reach the inevitable conclusion, that you're full of shit.
(Which I guess is why you post anonymously.)

The trains just don't run where you live.

So yeah, sometimes my omniscience fails me. I'll admit to be fallible, especially when it comes to things I have no knowledge of. For example players I have never seen, much less watched playing.

I guess my mistake here was assuming people like yourself might be capable of intelligent conversation, or at the very least answering a simple question. My bad, lesson learnt, sorry for taxing your limited intellect.

You can make quite a bit of money as much as 12-18k a month USD so not sure if he would get that in the NBL for what teams are asking him to do.

Pinder at the Sixers? Didn't expect that but OK. Positive is we have 2 athletic interchangeable PF/Cs plus Humphries at the C and DJ at the 4 and sometimes 5.

Negative is Pinder has no outside game. That is a really nice front court.
