Sixers v Bullets

Massive game today. Adelaide (11/12) host Brisbane (12/11). This is the pointy end of the season where all the champions step up, and all the legends just say "how me beer"

NBL 2020 is a season that will be remember as being one where inconsistency was the most consistent part of the season. Anyone can beat anyone at any time. If Adelaide and Brisbane went to a nightclub to pick up chicks, they would be their own ugly friend.

Brisbane have won their last 5 games straight, but that just means they are one game away from a loss. Will that come tonight?, or will they lob into town, throw the holy grenade of Antioch and then run off into the sunset clapping two coconuts together and making horse noises.

Adelaide, at home, are playing well. It was a 9,000 crowd last game so let's hope we see a similar number. The Brisbane 18ers won't know what hit them. Adelaide will need to have a plan to keep Lamar under control, but one thing is for sure, and that is this game will be high scoring. I'm expecting a 200 point game. To quote Hoops's favourite commentator "dis game will be won by da team that starts playing D first"

This game will be tighter than a fat kid in a rashie and won't be over until the final couple of plays.

Adelaide by 1.

Brisbane by 7. Adelaide are out of juice I reckon. Gut tells me they aren't all that happy internally. And somehow the bullets who have been woeful are rolling on a 5 game streak and big bad Lamar Patterson!

It's not just Lamar.

Cadee and Gliddon have started to hit shots.

Magnay is improving at a high rate and gaining confidence.

They are even getting decent contributions from Singler and Braun.

I am thinking Adelaide but Brissie are really making some noise at the right time of the year.

Brissy runs stops here. Too inconsistent. Cadee singler / braun will be out produced by teys Griffin drmic who can be trusted to out play those bunnies.randle / Patterson be break even. My man DJ becomes the difference plus full house rocking.
Sixers back on final track.

As a Breakers fan, I want Adelaide to win this to disrupt Brisbane's roll. I think Adelaide can win this and are just one of those teams who can play brilliantly when least expected. Unfortunately for their fans, they lack consistency. Fingers crossed that Adelaide stop Brisbane, we steal a win in Perth and the next round will be one to watch.

Bullets good game plan and great shooting. Sixers had a shocking shooting night, but also bring it on themselves by not attacking their opponents weaknesses to create easier shots.

Showed very little fight tonight in a must win game. What happened to the intent they showed v Melbourne two weeks ago?

Where was Joeys adjustment in the 3rd when Hodgson was dominating us under the basket?

Why do we have so many games where players perform well below their best?

Why do our guys never seem to learn how best to attack an opponent, or play high level D?

Same old problems with this team every year. Would be nice to have a new coach calling the shots, but not sure they can afford to pay him out.

No coach is going to do to much with that squad, they don't play D. When Kyei has to start because he plays a bit D you are in trouble. Who put the list together is where the finger should be pointed at.

White and Dillon should be retired or men's A grade on a Monday night, McVeigh is premier league standard. Froling has talent and the last few weeks was better but he needs fitnesses which is hard to get when you’ve been told your nba quality most your life and you just think you got turn up.

She said there was no fatigue factor, then when Santa made the obvious point that playing 2 games in a couple of days away from home versus the home team who had a full weeks rest she realises she sounds like an idiot. Supposed to be the expert but she just says things just to say things.

End of the day 36ers were never built to compete, although they should've been. Didn’t need extra stars just to be better supported from the bottom up. Not making the playoffs is what the organisation deserves.

There was a time not so long ago when the Sixers struggled to get 5000 people to a game and the few free tickets they did give out were met with as much excitement as finding a 5 cent coin. Oh and there was no Brisbane team at the time either.

Credit to the Brisbane outfit this afternoon, they played really well and controlled the whole game. The train had some engine problems earlier in the season but Andrej and his team of engineers have it running smoothly again when it matters most.

I don't think the owner would've hired JVG if he had any intention of sacking Joey. I can't see Joey quitting either with every coach under contract for next season other than Mike Kelly who will likely be re-signed.

Assuming Randle will be back I think Griffin & Moore need to be cleansed. I would also assume DJ is intending to opt out and hoping to get another big 3 year deal from the team.

Drmic & Froling are free agents punt Froling and maybe try and re-sign Drmic although wouldn't kill me if we let him go he's had enough chances over the past four years. Maybe Deng Adel is being targeted?

The new guys like Kyei, Dillon & White all signed 2 year deals so they're likely team options. We can't have Kyei starting next season tries hard but can't play.

Don't forget Mudronja will be coming onto the full roster next season so at least one local player has to go.

Froling, drimic both need fresh starts. Harry has some ability, he has a huge body, and considering the fat shaming he receives, he doesn't lag running up and down etc I can see him being one of those guys that abuses Adelaide for years to come. Just don’t think the 6ers are any good off the court at the project side of getting the best out of him.

Drimic is a fearless shooter and competes hard, but he looks frustrated and Adelaide don’t really run anything for him to get going. Shooters should be put in a position to do just that.

JVG has been brought in for some reason, so his work really starts when this forgetful season is done.

Will def be an overhaul one would hope.

No - basketball has only been a profitable venture for one club in the NBL and that's Perth.

The simplistic argument you are making shows you aren’t applying even an ounce of thought to the complexities of business and market.

Perhaps cost of a venue, admin costs, revenue through sponsorships, partnerships and other assets have a significant influence on the strength of the business?

“ Or the 6ers are laying more than people like yourself say they aren't. Which one is it?”

Previous paragraph negates the bullshit question, obviously.
