They have until Sunday to bring in an import. Should get announced through the week. Hold tight.

Why bother?! Save the cash and get 2 good imports to complement Roberson and Creek next year.

SEM are shot Creek has hit the wall and Wesley hasn't fully recovered yet. They're not going to make the playoffs third import or not consider it a good inaugural season and save the money for next season.

With Zodiac on this one.
Has been a good season even if they miss playoffs.

Build for next year with Creek, Roberson and Pineau and get the right imports early on.

Lolz Pineau! He is a great 8th man but you ain't winning regular games if he is playing more than 20mins

Eh, Pineau is fine and plays his role well. It's only his lack if shooting that really restricts who you can play on the frontline with him. Watching Wesley shooting deep 3s yesterday was hard to watch. I wouldn't mind him in Cairns playing with guys like Deng and Oliver who can go outside. At least you know he's going to work.

Wesley needs to come off the bench where he can abuse backup bigs. No spacing with Wesley, Creek & Pineau.

They aren't making the playoffs genius and if you're seriously thinking they can when Adelaide, Brisbane and United are in far better positions then you need to check yourself.

@Perth - loss
@Sydney -loss
@Bullets - maybe
Vs. Cairns - loss
@Sixers - maybe
Vs. Kings - loss
@Breakers - maybe
Vs. United - loss

They'd be lucky to win 3 of those games and their percentage will take a hit against Perth and Sydney...

If they were 10 - 10 it would be worth getting someone. 9 - 11 with their schedule - no better off saving money for next year

As unlikely as it might be, I don't think it's the time to just hang up the boots and concentrate on next year either, especially for a new team. SEM are capable of beating any team in this league, and the teams above SEM are also just as capable of hitting a losing spell and gifting them a chance. Go for it.

Just do it

I doubt SEM are capable of beating many teams above them. They just won against the Hawks who shat on their 18point lead. Scoring 17-0 in the 2nd the Phoenix should have won by shedloads. If the Hawks had made their 3's they would have won easily.
New teams in the NBL need to be in the finals from the start. Not good enough.

I don't think its time to "give up", but that's not what we're talking about.
Question is whether it is worthwhile signing another import?

I guess that if they had their ye on someone, and they think he might be a long-term option and come back next season, then yes this could be a good trial period.

But there is practically no way they make the finals from here.

I think it is important for SEM to convince their fans they are a team worth following by demonstrating they are willing to do all within their power to compete.

If I were a fan and they were on the edge of playoff contention and they just coasted to the end of the year I'd be unhappy.

At least try or end up like the Hawks who exist to exist.
