Broken News: Perth Sign Shaun Livingston
Perth Wildcats have signed 3 time NBA Champion Shaun Livingston as a replacement for Injured young gun Wani Swaka Lo Buluk.
Livingston was convinced of the merits of the NBL by teammate and good Friend Andrew Bogut, and hopes to repeat Bogut's success by returning to the NBA for play-offs.
League owner and Director Larry Kestleman congratulated both parties saying this confirmed his assertion that the NBL was now the 2nd best league in the world and a destination of choice for many athletes.
Under what some have dubbed the "Old Stars" concept, Livingston and others like him will not be counted as regular imports provided they play in no more than half of the regular season games.
Livingston is expected to arrive in Perth and train with his new team before next Friday's all-important home game against ladder-leaders Sydney Kings. However Head Coach Trevor Gleeson was unsure whether Livingston will face his former teammate, due to the need to manage his games.
When challenged on how Livingston could be accommodated within the salary cap, Gleeson smiled and said Shaun coming mostly for the adventure.
