Hawks v Bullets Nov 3

The Hawks can't take a trick this season and the Bullets are licking their lips in anticipation.

The game is in Canberra, so you would expect that neither team has a real advantage in the court. Can the Bullets twist the knife? or Can the Hawks come back?

Much has been said of the coaching prowess of Mr Flynn so has the Rookie got the mad skills to knock off the Aussie Coach?

I'm thinking the Hawks are plucked for the season, Bullets to get this one easily.

Yep totally plucked, just haven't got team balance right with rookie coach. Ball is the saving this team with his entertainment. Brisbane ain’t letting this slip.

Huddo calling the play by play, Hooley and Santa next to him on the call. Heal reporting from the sideline. Actually a pretty nice commentary lineup for this game.

Stratford is an imbecile for hiring Flinn. This guy is so out of his depth it's almost comical.

This is really painful to watch. The Hawks just look unlikely on every possession. No one creating genuine opportunities. Just resorting for speculative 3 pointers or mid range jumpers at the end of the shot clock. We could lose this by 30.

Not sure if Illawarra Hawks or the Philippine national team.

WNBL is on the other channel if anyone wants to watch a decent game.
Hawks need to be cut from the NBL asap.

Not scrapped from nbl just a new coaching lineup and get rid of all the vets.

What is with the fascination of playing everyone. Is the coach worried about upsetting the players parents for not playing their kid

That would explain Cadee's first 5 years in the league but to be fair he is deserving his minutes lately

#018 couldn't agree more, some of these guys are Waratah league, yet coach plays them.

Ball on offense is the only reason to watch this game.

I hate how deep some NBL coaches go. In a 40min game you really just need your 5 starters, a back up point, back up wing, back up big. Pretty much just a solid 8 man rotation where you can occasionally throw in a 9th player for a few minutes depending on fouls, match ups, etc.

How did Gliddon make the boomers when he's arguably the worst starter in the league

He's that bad Lemannis hasn't even started him the last couple of games!

Like Lemanis he is ordinary at NBL level but steps it up internationally ;)

Selecting Gliddon for the Boomers was really a disgrace and I'm surprised more didn't come of it.

I'd love to see Hawks cut Boone and then SEM recruit him to replace Benson

It's like this weekend's games have made the commentators forget how bad Cadee was for most of the season prior to that.

Ordinary like Brian Goorjian in winning three-peats?

Ball should be playing 40 minutes. No excuses.

Grida and Naar five minutes each. Dech plays defence, only player not in the minus from the hawks. Stop playing everyone evenly, this is not under 12 basketball. Ball been good have Dech next to him at the two, Blanchfield three, Coenrads four and Ogilvy at the five. Boone and Ogilvy only two that should have similar time and told to play hard.

They have to try and get a winning mentality or when Ball goes they will be playing out the original snake pit because that's all that will turn up.

No offence to Brisbane, getting the win, but Hawks are starting to become embarrassing.

Starting Grida and Grandpa Coenraad? FFS.

Sure, not every import you sign is going to be a Cotton, especially at the bargain end of the spectrum, but at least make a fucking effort,

What's Jett doing? He'd bee a decent cheap starting SG, and would also bring a bit of D to their backcourt.

They're aiming a lot higher than Jett with their replacement.

Ball playing less minutes with Brooks out. Get some value out of him while you have him.

Glad someone else said it first... But Jett could actually be a perfect complement for Ball. Jett PLAYED D and could PENETRATE which are two things we desperately need in the backcourt ATM.

Gliddon being what Gliddon always has been.. streaky AF and not someone you can rely on to build a team around.

Front office needs to grow a pair now.

- Sack Boone and sign a center who fits the system

- Sign an SG

- Grida is woeful, can't shoot and does absolutely stupid things mostly selfish. Drop him and get that 3/4 import mentioned in their video

Seems like Simon is willing to pay money fucking do it properly

I don't understand the Grida hate. He’s playing like shit for sure. But, he’s young and talented and is clearly being effected by the team changing from an NBL team to a sideshow. I’m not sure that he’s to blame for that.

Matt Campbell is to blame for what is going on.

He should quit as its clear he either doesn't have a clue how to run the club or doesn't care.

Matt Flinn as coach seriously the guy has been around to long along with Crooks both guys should have been shown the door years ago they are part of the problem and always have been.

Boone a ridiculous signing to go along with AJ an over hyped turd.

This is by far the worst Hawks team in history and if this is what Campbell means by developing players hand back the clubs licence and let some other place have a team.

Boone was a good signing, and AJ is playing well. At least the hawks are trying things, I do agree the coach looks a little out of his depth but when interviewed speaks well and makes sense. I believe all the coaches at hawks are maybe trying to be to fair on all players and need to rip into a few but that's very old school. Ball is a great talent but most their players are not that quality despite there reputation. Who from there team would even get a look in on United list, not many, perhaps none.
