Trimble or Long biggest loser?

Early in the season Melbourne United coach Dean Vickerman basically said that Melo Trimble and Sean Long are a couple of losers that both come from losing programs last year and that neither of them know how to win basketball games. Chris Anstey pretty much said the same thing the other night. And then last night Vickerman essentially called both of them losers again when he was saying that Prather was on the team to close out games and that MU would have a better record if he was healthy - which was Vickermans way of saying that Long and Trimble cannot close out games because they are a couple of losers.

Now not a huge fan of Dean Vickerman but I have to admit that I do fully agree with him when he says that Long and Trimble are both losers.

With Melbourne United at 1-4 to start the season I think that we can all agree with Vickerman that Trimble and Long are a couple of losers when we consider the fact that they were both on losing teams last year but who is the biggest loser - Trimble or Long?

Long is a bit foul prone and can make some poor decisions in the clutch but Trimble is a point guard and its up to him to run the team. Trimble's game management is utterly atrocious and his two turnovers towards the end of the fourth quarter last night in Cairns are proof positive so I'm going to have to go with Trimble for biggest loser.

So what do you guys think? Do you agree with Dean Vickerman that his two new imports are a couple of losers? And if so then which one is the biggest loser - Long or Trimble?

Might suggest DV is biggest loser. He recruited losers. And they have impacted program. Can't teach old dogs new tricks. Success needs success. Bring in winners.

Although Goulding's defense has improved, pairing him with Trimble was and still is a real head scratcher.
Whatever Casper was asking they should have paid.

Clearly not watching the games. Trimble, long, and macca all doing things they need to do to win. Trimble assisting, scoring, and even playing better defense vs last season. Long is averaging 20 ppg and 11rbg. It's the rest of the United squad that are losers. Barlow just sits out side the 3 pt line. Shea is no better than a domestic player at the moment. The role guys come in the game and the lead is either lost or the opposing teams lead grows! Blame the guys that aren’t doing enough! Don’t blame guys that are doing all they can.

Casper was never going back to Melbourne after the crap that went down last season. It had to do with honesty, you don't tell your best player he’s earning the most and then play others more. One import substantially more, you don’t sack Trist and bring in Jois who was no better and get team harmony.
#923 yes blame Barlow, blame the bench, at least these guys try play D, what Long and Trimble do is get caught out on D. The rest bench got no chance, you can’t judge players that are not getting no court time or getting a minute at a time. They lost the team first mentality from there premiership season.
To use Prather as an excuse for not winning games is laughable, has not played in over twelve months and spent most United premiership year on the side line injured and they were struggling till he got hurt, once he got injured United went on a winning run, yes had a great GF series but did not contribute much through main season.

I'd happily drop Trimble and give more minutes to McCarron and Ili. Keep Long if you can teach him to box out on defence properly instead of just trying to out jump people.

Perhaps Trimble & Long aren't winners but stat getters....United better work it out quickly!
