Schenscher waived by Nuggets?

"The Nuggets have waived ex-Georgia Tech center Luke Schenscher. Remember when people were trying to pass off the Schenscher/Emeka Okafor match up in the '04 Final Four as the second coming of Ewing vs. Olajuwon? "

Given that the contract was "non-guaranteed", does that mean he gets nothing or very little of that $500k figure?

Yep, Luke is no longer a Nugget. It's not all doom and gloom, because he wasn't selected in the draft means no-one owns his rights which means he can shop himself around and fingers crossed a roster stop opens up for a third string centre.

Given the roster it was always going to be hard for Luke to stick with them. Signing him for the entire season really wasn't an option for the Nuggets as they already have 4 players that could be dropped to the NBDL.

Wonder what's his plans are now, try and get a gig in the NBDL or head to Europe???

Channel 10 has reported that he has been signed to the Sacramento Kings on a year long contract. I presume they will send him to the nbdl.

Um, yeah, he only lasted one day, but at least he can say he did signed with a NBA team.

Atlanta could be a good fit for him backing up Zaza. He'd at least get some minutes.

To verify the channel 10 claim, www.nba.com/kings states that they have claimed Schenscher off waivers.

Schenscher signed with Kings.

May not play much behind Miller and Skinner but good chance to learn from the undrafted white boy Miller who found his way after being left to rot!!
