World Cup 2019 Players who have Impressed

Across all teams competing in this WC, what players have impressed or performed above expectations? Who has underperformed? The international game, allowing zone defences, has once again challenged certain NBA all stars, while allowing bench players to shine. I have really enjoyed watching Rubio of Spain, Bogdanovich of Serbia, Santoransky of czech with (of course) Mills and Baynes of Australia. Thoughts?

Luis Scola unbelievably impressive - 17 & 7 at 39 years of age.

Bogdanovic is gone

Leaders are
Mills
Satorsky
Fournier
Campazzo
Rubio
Walker

Are the go to players from each side remaining in that order.

Do they award individuals at WC's, MVP, All Star 1st team, 2nd team, etc.?

Yep, last world cup had an MVP (Kyrie Irving), and all-tournament team (Irving, Teodosić, Batum, Faried, Pau Gasol), and a special award for best fan support (Philippines) (seriously)

Think it's gonna depend a lot on who wins, because it's a pretty even spread.

Bogdan (should he dominate the remaining classification games)
Fournier
Gobert
Mills
Baynes
Ingles (needs a big few games)
Mitchell/ Kemba
Turner
Campazzo
Scola
Satoranzky
Rubio

I'll say Australia makes finals, and it looks like this

Rubio
Mills
Fournier
Baynes
Turner

G.Antetokounmpo has been effective at times, but has exhibited poor decision making as he finds 3 defenders collapsing on him during his drives, yet he still opts to put a shot up. Such an iso mentality can pay off in the NBA but generates more turnovers in the FIBA game.

Whether its just cos the refs like him I don't know, but Gobert has been close to the best Big man in the comp.
Of those remaining, the old war horse Gasol is the clear standout. I can only hope Bogut and Lemanis have a plan for him.

I know they were highly rated, but some of the Argies have still been a surprise to me. And talk about an old war horse, how good has Scola been.

Marc GASOL (ESP) / Rudy GOBERT (FRA)
Luís SCOLA (ARG) / Nikola JOKIC (SRB)
Pat GARINO (ARG) / Amath M'BAYE (FRA) / Harrison BARNES (USA)
Don MITCHELL (USA) / BOGDANOVIC (SRB)
Kemba WALKER (USA) / Stefan JOVIC (SRB) / Patty MILLS (AUS)

My Allstar 5 would be:

Bogdanovic
Mills
Fournier
Scola
Baynes

damn that was hard!

I'm probably being too much of a homer with Baynesy at C but oh well

Jock Landale has been very good, not all-tournament good but he has certainly cemented his place in the Boomers. Great stuff.

I concur Dave Q, Jock has impressed, more so because he has come into a side with established NBA players as a 23 year old up and comer who has really shown he is at their level. Good for him, certainly you expect Mills, Baynes, Bogut, Ingles and Co. to impress but young Landale has not let anyone down!
