Rafer Alston to Houston

Pretty sure it hasn't already been posted, but the Houston Rockets have traded Mike James for Rafer Alston from the Raptors.

Strange move by Houston considering they already have Wesley, Charlie Ward, Moochie Norris, Derek Andersen, Jon Barry, T-MAC and Luther Head in the guard rotation.

Understand why the Raps made the move, Rafer has overstayed his welcome in Toronto.

By my counting, that's 16 contracts for the Rockets, someone is gonna get waived and traded for picks, and only one player can be pushed down to the NBDL.

Houston could really be a smokey in the upcoming season. Starting 5 could possibly be

1: Rafer
2: Andersen
3: T-MAC
4: Swift
5: Yao

backed up by Wesley, Deke, Sura, Howard and Barry. Nice deep squad there!!!!

Sura is in a very bad way. May never play again. Knee is shot.

On another note, Ronny Turiaf attended the opening day of Laker Camp. Whilst he didn't appear in the full camp, he did attend and shoot around with the squad. Very impressive considering he underwent surgery July 26 to repair an enlarged aortic root.

The Rockets hav obviously conceded that they will b without Sura for a while, this gives them a solid starting pg for years to come.

Toronto are gonna have a bad season regardless so this move not only gives them sum more flexibility financialy, but also gives them a more experienced level headed pg to lead their young team.
