Nz gone I think, Greece should be too strong. Good for us, but not good for Asia.
Maybe 1 less spot for Asia going forward.

If the Tall Blacks could cut down the stupid turnovers and get their second and third options going reliably I think they could make it competitive against Greece.

NZ-Montenegro game close.

If NZ and Australia both advance to the 2nd next round rather than classification round, FIBA should at least have arranged New Zealand and Australia to matchup in the same 2nd round group to more fairly help decide the Olympic qualification spot. Same if they both failed in the 1st round and both went to the classification round. This current NZ vs Australia World Cup battle for Olympic qualification is bizarre.

If I'm not mistaken, this was the battle between the countries with the lowest population to qualify for the World Cup. Montenegro has under 1 million people. Both teams punch above their population weight.

Boomers beating Lithuania next game is massive to go into the second round pool 1-0. A win over either of France or Dominican should put them through to the QF's with a 2-1 record. Will be a tough ask going in 0-1

All results carry over to the next round just FYI, not that it really matters assuming Lithuania beat Canada (and France beat Jordan) as all teams will just have an extra couple wins on if they didn't count the results against non qualifiers (in our group).

So if Canada beats Lithuania, and we do as well, we go in 3-0. And Canada 2-1 if they beat Senegal. Rather than 1-0 against Canada.

If that makes sense.

So all 3 games count rather than the 1 against the other team in our group.

I like this idea of two rounds of pool games because it allows teams one bad game but lets them carry on if they show consistent quality, and it seems to get rid of the tanking that was so annoying in previous tournaments

Canada by 1 means they're -15, Lithuania -1. Boomers could lose to Lithuania by 31 and still finish 2nd. Canada by 47 would also work for us, but that seems unlikely.

Watching the Lithuanians, they are very good defensively and attack the basket every chance they get. Their 3pt shooting has been poor though, so if we can make it tough for them at the rim, we should slow their scoring a fair bit.

They also hit the offensive boards pretty hard, so we're going to have to work to limit that too. Keeping Bogut and Baynes on the floor is going to be crucial to winning the game.

The Lithuanians are also pretty strong and have good size across the board, but they’re not super agile, so I hope we’re ready to draw some charges to blunt their attack on the rim.

That kings Didi bloke fouls on a halfway three point shot for Greece to get three free throws and on last free throw Carboco knocks it of the ring as it was dropping for one point win to Brazil.

For kings supporters Didi got about six minutes and not much but has speed to burn.

The English and American commentators were great on what was a fantastic contest and game by both sides.
