Its exactly what it says.
He is paid by vic gov to promote Victoria
He then calls out Casino guards (who are immigrants themselves) for Racism!
Great investment... agree?
I fail to see how this is anything but a massive beat up?
How does being paid to promote a region's tourism preclude your from calling out behaviour at a particular establishment?
The nature of the incident might be in question, but I’m not sure what the whole point trying to be made in this story is? Is he supposed to shut up if something off happens?
Has anyone else put 2 and 2 together and figured out why he pulled out of the world cup yet insisted on playing in the Melbourne lead up games?
For those who are slow: No, not for the fans.
A sneaky little bonus in his Visit Victoria contract.
This for me takes the cake. As pissed I was when he pulled out after I bought tickets, I think tBA made the right decision in not letting him play the lead ups if he didnt want to be part of the world cup.
What a disgrace.

I'm guessing this moral outrage comes from a troll in a certain Asian country; otherwise, someone’s been smokin some real bad shit!

Huh? I think he had a pretty minor lapse of judgement with the insta-post. No particularly earth-shattering however.
Panties have been unnecessarily twisted in this case imo.
Well he is doing his job
Plenty of talk about him in Melbourne
And melbournes a shit hole anyway

Simmons did the right thing call it out when you see it doesn't matter who is paying what always call it as you see it. If there were more people in the world like Ben then the world would be a better place.

So what if Ben was paid to come to Melbourne? Most sporting personalities get paid to make appearances.
He called out what he perceived as racism, normally minorities can pick up when someone is treating them unfairly. Uproar about nothing.

You are crazy if you think Australia does not have a racism problem.

I'm fairly confident in saying everywhere has a racism problem unfortunately. Australia is certainly no exception, and I've witnessed it myself (happening to others) enough times over the years. I don't think our racism issues are near the US-level of toxicity, but they are not great, either.

I guess I am sort of a target being a brown Muslim. Just speaking from bad experiences that occur almost daily. I am also in Perth which is very racist.

That's unfortunate you've experienced racism, I was born in WA, but have dark skin due to SE Asian background and have experienced my fair share of racism, Adelaide being the most racist place I've ever personally experienced. You do realise though by calling yourself "white dog" you're just contributing to the problem?

Perth is racist but remember it does go both ways, it really is a free-for-all here.
As a child being yelled at for being a "white c*nt" by adult indigenous for no reason was pretty brutal when it's the furthest topic from your young mind.

I got called white cunt and white dog all the time playing footy. Just laughed. Least I'm not black.
Ahhh being a good ol Perthling myself i was on the receiving end being called a wog c*** on numerous occasions in my life. It certainly is a melting pot of racism over here. But what i experienced in my childhood wouldn't compare to the racial profiling that happens because of the colour of your skin. If that indeed is what happened to Simmons then good on him for calling it out. He would understand it better than me.

So now Ben is being attacked for putting on clinics to meet fans because he's charging $200, wtf is wrong with Australia, leave the guy alone, AFL players charge kids $50 just to get a photo with them and former players charge amateur clubs $1000 to spend an hour talking shit. It's getting a bit fucking tedious now.
