Hard to get college time when their seasons usually last 4+ weeks longer than sturts does #finalsbound not #woodenspoonbound

While Sturt has most representation especially in div 1, Centrals have a good showing in terms of club size. Also is Lat Mayen still at TCU, and theres a couple that came back last year. While div 1 is great and all, look at someone like Riewer who went div 2 and would have beaten a lot of div 1 teams. Get some playing time and not just be a spectator or a specialist. Most kids think it's div 1 or bust from watching all the hype on ESPN.
Maybe the state should be proud as a whole about these kids getting a great opportunity in America, no need to club bash, just appreciate the hard work done. And on the other side no bragging about all the kids that go to college from my club or individuals that take credit.

Yes but my question is most of these colleges are
glorified TAFEs has any athlete ever come back with a qualification worth anything? And yes I know Stanford is good, but is White actually getting a degree in something worthwhile and not sports communication?

A great experience? Yes perhaps if you like the coach, feel safe in your surroundings and get court time. BUT 3,4,5 years possibly wasted of your life if you consider the alternative of going to university in SA.

Yeah, those pub crawls at UniSa way better use of time than going to a different country to play basketball and study. Especially if you can get a scholarship. Top 10 in dumbest hoops posts this year.

Hey champ I know a lot more about US colleges than I care to mention here. Including the many that games suffered and the many that will be back early at Christmas because they hate it and the others that burn out and quit the game. US colleges and study shouldn't be used in the same sentence

I know one of the guys on the list changed colleges at the end of his first year and was presented with a "degree" funny thing was he laughed because he didn't know what field it was in.

I know 3 guys who quit early (at christmas) One from Southern, Mavs and Sturt I think because they were unhappy with the poor standard of coaching and the conditions (living)

I cant see how earning a scholarship that equates to USD $250,000 - $350,000 fully paid over 4 years by a university is a negative thing? #082 I don't know the players you speak of but if they enrolled at a JUCO or a school in some competition way off the radar that they actually had to pay for, well perhaps the conditions or playing time may be an issue?
Still by far the best system for young ballers if they are fortunate enough to get a full ride.

Sturt has a pipeline to the US. Just attended a college exposure tour (first SA club to ever do so) and assist their kids in getting prepared for the big jump. Coach Janx is proactive and has great college contacts, just another reason why Sturt is the best club in the State by a country mile.

Don't bag what your club cant provide or even have the slightest clue about how to assist you in playing college basketball. If you want to play college hoops there is only one "destination club"

I did see that Sturt took at tour to the US and that is great that Sturt have developed that initiative.

HOWEVER, I don't know that Janx work is exclusively a Sturt thing. I've spoken to the guy and got some firsthand insights on how he has worked to help certain guys. I don't know that Sturt has the pipeline to the US College system at all. The only pattern I can see is that all the kids playing D1 college basketball played for Janx at some point, are listed on his site (so I assume he has had something to do with them) and it just so happens he is at Sturt.

Janx shares the love. He gave an information session at North Adelaide with the PL coach at Hillcrest earlier in the year for any Rockets that were interested in a college pathway. Was really professional and informative for all that attended.
