Brian Bowen - what now?

Can't recall whether Bowen signed a 1 or 2 yr deal with the next stars program.

Does he go back to Sydney now?

It was a 2 year deal. I imagine it will be summer league for him and then weigh up his options.

Olgun re-tweeted Jeremy Woo's tweet. It wasn't him who broke Bowen joining Pacers

Is a 2 way better than being drafted in the second round?

Does anyone know how he went in workouts and measurements at combine etc predraft? Would surmise he might not have done well, thought he did very well in nbl for his age. At least worthy of a second rounder but I wonder if his college scandal scared teams off if his workouts were bad and that may have been a factor.
Wonder if this might have current 2 young guys worried that teams don't really respect nbl as much as everyone thinks. Sort of is a black eye that no one picked him with ranking out of high school and reasonable year against men. Stats shouldn't have been factor, potential is what teams are looking for.
Anyway good on him with deal with pacers, hopefully sticks. Good franchise and role model in Oladipo to learn off.

Was Bowen ever really a hope to get draft? He was a fringe draft guy anyway.

Its like Ball some rank him in the 20's others have him at the end of the second round...guys in college step up or young guys from EU emerge and its easy to fall out of the draft quickly.

The hype when he came over was fringe first rounder. He was also supposedly top 20 in his high school class and was being considered as a draft prospect if he declared last year. So yeah he was a real chance. The NBL clearly did not help him.

I think he'll be ok long term though. 2 way contracts have shown to be a good move for players. Plenty have quickly gotten full deals and I think he'll DD well.

Kinda surprised Bowen went undrafted. I thought he did ok here.

Before he joined the Kings, I looked through a bunch of different mock drafts and he was mostly in the 15-20 range. Be interested to know why his stock dropped sharply when there is nothing super obvious.

He came over to the NBL as a possible 2nd-round prospect - he was never going to be top-10/15 after the narrative saw what happened with him and the NCAA. Good to see him land in the NBA via G-League.

He had no other options after his NCAA scandal, playing in a deep NBL team mightn't have helped but a two way contract isn't bad. If he's good enough he'll make it.

He won't be back most likely, although they could use an athletic three as one import. First priority should be a rebounding/defensive beast import next to Bogut and then maybe you look at the third import at the three spot if you bring Newley off the bench. Not sure Bowen showed enough though to warrant an import slot (unless he comes cheap).

with teams now getting NBA fringe players and Ex NBA players I would love the kings to sign Luc Mbah moute ex team mate of Bogut and can play 3 and the 4, And he is 32 turning 33

He would be solid, but I think probably out of our price range given the $$$ being spent on the rest of the roster. He's the type of guy we need though, doesn't need to score, just contribute on D and the glass. Rather than Wear, who mostly didn't score or contribute on D or the glass.

Sydney kings should go after Makur Maker then go to college, Next star or not Maker would have Bogut mentoring him every day, just like Ball and Brooks at the Hawks

Matur Maker can't be a next star, he's already played pro.

Bogut and Moller will clean the boards, kings need a quality three point shooter, possibly three that could fill the four for some time.

anon, makur maker would not come to sydney ruin his draft stock, he is already ranked no 2 in his class.

He does not need Bogut mentoring him, he is not a centre, he will be a point forward in the nba.
