In all seriousness should the NBL and clubs time their announcements considering likely big NBA news (i.e. the NBA finals coming to an end) and wait a week to release this sort of stuff?

I'd be very surprised if this happens. If there was going to a signing there would of been some sort of talk from the club on social media. You don’t just drop a big signing on the fly at 9am, 8:30pm or whatever time on a Friday evening without building some sort of anticipation lol

I know off-season speculation is fun, but can we hold off posting stuff like this if you've got no reliable information? 9am has gone. The only Hawks announcement today was they're playing SEM Phoenix in a pre-season.

8:30pm? Why would a club bury an announcement as significant as this after hours on a Friday? This is the sort of thing the club would call a press conference for.
