Zion Coming to Australia

"Team USA's star-studded squad for this year's tour of Australia and the World Cup in China is starting to form, with James Harden, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard and Zion Williamson - considered the sport's next big thing - among the players pencilled in.

Other players expected to make themselves available for the American squad coached by the San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich and Golden State's Steve Kerr include Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum, the Lakers' Kyle Kuzma and Ben Simmons' nemesis, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell".

News coming out this morning is that Zion has been asked to take part in the USA camp on the team of 10 players that will scrimmage against the USA team. So that would mean he probably wouldnt be coming out to Aus?

Subject is misleading.

All reports are that he will likely be invited to USA camp, that's it. Nothing more right now.

This will likely turn in to him making the squad though, but still ...

Lebron and Carmelo maybe?

Okafor and Dwight Howard?

I have an inkling some or all of them may have played USA before NBA

When it comes to Zion, I wouldn't worry about what the history of non-pro players is leading up to him. He's a beast regardless. USA won't have absolutely everyone at their disposal so he's in with a good shot. Has there been a center come into the league with more hype than this since Shaq?

After a bit of research, looks like it was just Emeka Okafor to play before the NBA, unless Carmelo played a world cup (or whatever it used to be called)
