No King for boys?
Lol, they put up a picture with someone who is not even in the squad. BA for you....
im guessing you are not Victorian.
Potter will be in the starting 5.
From the list, I'd go with
Wigness/Armstrong/Bayles
Hunt/Smith
Giddey/Griffin
Adebayo/Jones/Bird
Tsapatolis/Simons
Hanafin/Henderson/Deeble
Swain/Melbourne
Price/Cotton
Potter/Dunn/Pollerd
Rees/Prior

Seriously who picks this crap! I am so over this, as a coach for over 15 years trying to develop some of these kids to just watch talent be over looked.
How can a player who had the second lowest points and second lowest rebounds (as a big) makes the squad while the top scorer in the team who has also finishes with more rebounds more fouls against doesnt.
Connections over talent again

Please don't act surprised

Same in boys... kid been at CoE/NBA Academy for years and averages 1.7 a game, but can play for Australia???
If king gets an Aussie passport, the team is pretty much set in stone. A clear standout 12 Imo.
The girls team will be difficult to choose, maybe not this camp, but the following one for Asia.
Odd that the top scorer for vic women didn't make it.

Might not qualify as an Aussie citizen???
Otherwise should easily crack an invite to the squad at least.
If King doesn't have an Aussie passport why is he at the COE?
Born in nz, been here since before primary school.
http://www.nbl.com.au/news/article/meet-mojave-king-australian-basketballs-next-big-thing
From the article
'Mojave currently possesses both New Zealand and US citizenship but, having grown up in Australia, he considers himself an Aussie and intends to don the green and gold.
"He is going to play for Australia," Leonard stated emphatically.
“He was pretty much raised in Australia but he just doesn't have that passport just yet. We’re working hard to try and get him his Australian passport so he can play for Australia but at the moment he doesn’t have it so he probably won’t be a part of the Australian junior team until we can obtain the Australian passport.”
It’s a decision that will come as a blow to Kiwi hoops, especially considering Leonard’s role as Basketball New Zealand's General Manager of High Performance.'

Reply #744301 "Odd that the top scorer for vic women didn't make it."
I am with you! Worse is the bottom scorer did make it.
Really is time we expanded the pool. You have 150 usa players turn up to the first camp. Canada brings in 40.
We should at minimum be bringing in 5 players per position.
Like the u16 Asia team, how an you pick teams when nationals u16 champs haven't been played yet which is full of bottom agers.

An Maybe attitude,! Lots of good players get overlooked and don't get a chance to prove themselves in tryouts! Talls win every time hopeless or not!

AN,
Our selection process is really poor and often good players get overlooked, or don't get a chance!
Coe players are automatic! They are not challenged.

How is Butler still getting these positions, honestly track record is terrible, selection is even worse
Butler continued appointments = sunk cost fallacy by BA
Perry wasn't involved in squad selection and won’t be at camp.

Concerning non-selection of highest scoring VicM woman - she is a wonderful player, very quick - bottom age I think. She can look forward to representative duties next year I'd expect.
IMO punters can get overly focused on points scored by a guard, when many of the points scored reflect their capitalizing on outlet passes arising from a dominant rebounding outfit. This particular player is excellent in transition, but - for mine - shows an excessively ISO mindset when facing a settled defense. Quality opposition teams will pick up on this.

Red84 - We have to be speaking about different "highest scoring VicM woman" player as looking at her stats - 3rd in AST, 1st in scoring, 1st in 3 point shooting, 2 rebounding, 2 in FT and 1st in being fouled against. While only averaging 2 fouls a game.
I am really not sure where the down side here is.
Red84 probably looking at ajc u16s???
She was on the u18 metro team recently.

Apologies - I am seriously off track with the player ID here. No more posts from me until I get a brain.
