3 on 3 hustle
Does anyone follow this? Are the tournaments stand alone or is it something where you keep winning to qualify for the Olympics?

Not entirely sure, but I believe 3x3 has tournaments with prizepools and then a running leaderboard I'd guess similar to how leaderboards in international basketball and cricket work.
Perhaps your Hustle standing could put you in contention for a national team, but it'd take a bit of work as the best players are established and competent. Worth going to a tournament to see the small differences and how someone like Andrew Steel does well.
I believe 3 of the Olympic team have to be ranked inside the top 10 in the country with one wildcard who can be ranked lower?

Only the country not the players need to be ranked, when 3x3 was first brought in with the prospect of having international competition status , they had to host a tournament in Sydney to qualify for consideration. They then selected from that tournament players to represent Australia in the first world 3x3 in Spain.
Same thing for Olympics , the national team won't come from 3x3 hustle unless they are already considered fro selection, it’s purely an avenue to make extra money.
Think you will find those playing in thebNBL1 unless they have been given the ok from their team won’t be taking part in the hustle right now. Last year it interfered with players condition.

This article explains the pretty basic criteria for selection to a country's World Cup team should they qualify.
Australia to launch FIBA 3×3 World Cup qualifying campaign
"According to FIBA 3×3 regulations, two of the country's top 10 FIBA 3×3 ranked players must be included in the final team of four, with the world governing body of the sport recommending that the national federation maintain a squad of 10 from which to select a team from for both men and women."
This is on Fox Sports now. The female commentator is quite attractive.

- There are many 3x3 providers Australia wide endorsed by Fiba.
- All operate under exactly the same rules and conditions no matter what their size.
- Every player earns ranking points for every event they register into, these points only last for 12 months.
- Your ranking points are accumulated from your 9 highest events.
- The ranking points are on a tired (colored system from 1-10) depending on how many teams enter, sometimes an event can be upgraded to a higher ranking (Pro Hustle, CLB National Final, Challenger, World Tour, World Cup etc)
- These ranking points are consistent globally.
- There are two main aims with 3x3, The World Tour, 10 major events + a WT final and National events, ie World Cup, Olympics, Com games etc
- The World Tour offers the highest ranking points of any event and runs every year.
- Yes, 2 players for any National representative team must be from inside the top 10 at time of Qualification ie, 31st October 2019 for 2020 Olympics, the criteria on the remaining 2 spots is yet to be announced.
- There are no tournaments that play into National Federation events, it's all worked on the collective individual ranking points for the Country to qualify first and then on individual ranking points ( plus suitability and previous experience ) as to who makes that squad.
- Most major events play into World Challengers and then into World Tour Events
Hope this helps clarify a few things.
