Greece wins Euro Championships
Following on from their soccer counterparts Greece has gone on to capture the European Championship for basketball with a comprehensive 78-62 victory over Germany in the final. Greece were one of the few top teams without any NBA players, they were led in scoring by a man with the comically Greek sounding name, Theodoros Papaloukas. Germany were led by tournament MVP Dirk Nowitski.
Not a bad effort for a country of 10 million people, Athens would be going off right now. I think it's probably fair to refer to them as title country now, although it doesn't have much of a ring to it.
