Melbourne v Perth Feb 17

Well, the final minor round game of the season and the table is a fluid as a millennial's sexuality. Equation is simple. A Perth win sees them keep top spot and United stay third, a Melbourne win (unless by a mercurial 33 odd points) sees them host Sydney in the semi-finals.

Lots at stake for United, not so much for Perth. Perth will most likely play Brisbane in their semi final series :( Looks like Adelaide fans might be temporary Red Army members this finals series - where do I join?

For those who believe the LK Conspiracy, don your tin foil hat. Would LK want both "his teams" to face each other in the semi finals, or would he want an each way bet with one team per semi final series?

The major arm wrestle to watch this game will be Ware v Cotton. Both are hot favourites for MVP so this will be their game to shine.

Last time they met, Perth at home won by 5. Boone dominated the boards and Cotton put on a show. I'm thinking Boone might still dominate the boards and Cotton might light it up again. CG43 was in the starting 5 then, but since coming off the bench United play better.

United by 5

Unless DV grabs control of this team and gets them back to playing hard-nosed TEAM ball, this team won't win today (& probs won’t make the GF).

Hearing news that one of the wildcats starting 5 won't play...

Not sure where he heard that. It's not like the club announced it over an hour ago.

Game is a sell-out so won't affect that, but the TV audience may take a hit.

What an absolute abomination of a free throw routine

Staring at the ground and not the basket for 5 minutes before you 'shoot' is defintely the textbook case

I don't know what melbs excuse is for the performance so far.

But Perth are gonna ride the "we only have 1 import" card.

Been a pretty crap game so far, unfortunately given the hype of it

I'd say that United are psyched out by the combination of Perth’s ruggedness and the dubious calls.

I know there’s a flop warning for falling backwards on contact, but surely there must be one for falling forward on rebounds when there’s little or steady contact from behind. How the hell did Hire (?) get away with that little fall when Moller was behind him?

Melbourne will be hard to beat. Only down by 5 yet didn't have ware, goulding, barlow for most of the first half. To be down only 5 is impressive. Melbourne to win by 8. Wildcats are crap in the 3rd quarters this year.

How bad was that game compared to the rest of the season? Good signs for Perth they can take Melbourne to OT, in Melbourne, without White or Norton. No way Melbourne will get away with that defence in two games in Perth if they meet in the grand final either.

White had his hand in a cast?
Perth team to beat, Kay and Brandt looking good, Cotton and Martin very good combination, Gleeson for all his knockers knows his shit as does Neilson, Wagstaff,Hire give you grunt, not sold on Steindl but if gets hot it's good night.

Melbourne will find Perth hard to beat in Perth, Barlow looks injured, big play DJ very solid, Ware struggling a little at present shooting but very solid defensively, not certain what Jois brings, gets on early, not much happens gets benched to not be seen again. Boone same as Barlow looks injured, McCarron playing well struggled defending Cotton, Goulding still the match winner and his D good when required, not certain why Moller not given a run in the four, brings energy and defence, Pledger solid in his time on the floor.

Jois got benched because he got to the line and everyone saw his free throws. Then he got another foul shortly after.

He was benched because of that
