I would think that at this moment, they would be focusing on the business model IE Getting sponsors on board etc

You answered your own question. They can't talk to anyone til the end of the season, and how can they consider imports 10 months in advance?

They've probably touched base with all the Aussies in Europe and Liam Santamaria was strongly hinting that Ben Madgen was going there.

I think they will have a great team along the lines of what KET is suggesting.

If we called the imports

Long, Wiley, Ware or similar

I think this type of team is a contender

C Long/
F Creek/Wiley
F Madgen/
G Sobey/
G Ware/

KET

Creek's more of a 3. Madgen’s a guard, could play small forward (to relieve Creek).

I would have thought 1 of Madgen or Sobey, spread the $ on other positions too.

Phoenix will be fine as long as they stay away from white Americans.

Agreed possibly better off having one of Sobey or Madgen

But if they have the budget nothing wrong with signing both and bringing Madgen off the bench a bit like United do with McCarron

So adjust the depth chart to

C Long/
F Wiley
F Creek/
G Sobey/Madgen
G Ware/

Either way if they get players of that calibre, which i suspect they will, its a great first year team and an instant contender.

Ok Captain.

But, which of Wiley, Long and Ware caliber imports will be the budget 3rd import of most teams.

Sobey, Madgen & Creek would be an expensive local trio also.

They'd need bargain basement recruits from 7-11. A next stars import would help.

How deep are their pockets, I guess.

Yea I was using the Melbourne United model re imports, which I expect them to go with to be honest, as they seem to have the money behind them.

So yes the remaining 4 or 5 guys will be on the cheaper end, much like United

Madgen is a definite starter at this level still.

Madgen was a starter last season on one of the best teams in Lithuania. He is a starter in the German Bundesliga this season.

He is starting quality in the NBL.

Is there a suitable venue anywhere in Tas? Thought that that was one of the major hurdles for the Huskies.

2 venues. It's not a HUSKIES game so no venue issues at all.
