Taipans v Bullets Jan 3

First game of 2019 and it's an all Queensland affair. Bring your bananas and pineapples, crack open a XXXX, chase it down with a bundy and coke, then have a dip in the pool, eh but.

Taipans just don't know how to win a game at the moment. They are like that mate who peaks at high school, then just can't seem to crack it. I don't know what is happening with Nate Jawai. There were times against the Wildcats when he should have been on and dominating those pussycats, but he was sitting on the bench looking like he was thinking "why am I here?"

Cairns beat the Bullets 88 to 70 in round 1, but since then they have been on Joh's slippery slope. The Bullets have improved over this time and surely they are not in Cairns tonight to bend bananas for fun.

Every game is one game closer to a Cairns win, but I'm thinking unless they change their game style, the Bullet Train is going to crash the Cane Train...Chooo Chooo

Must win game for the bullets, should win this going away, 18 plus. Lose and it's probably bye bye finals though they have there bunnies United on Sunday afternoon.

Brisbane are already the only team to lose to Cairns surely they couldn't do it again.
This game is vital for Brisbane in the playoff race.

Brisbane by double figures.

Cairns showing good intent early on playing positive and things are happening. Hopefully they're able to keep it up. The Bullets don't look switched on.

Not a fan of Trimble after that hard screen, just dawdling around, lucky Kendle didn't get the ball open on the baseline. That's a throwback to Cairns' losing ways.

It's always preferable to play team first and for as good offensively Trimble is the team function much better when he has less ball. Hall has stood up as well and to be fair has been getting better as season gone.

Get the ball to Nate with a little bit of ball movement and your shooters have a bit more time and space. Good things happen.

Then after the confidence rose the defensive intensity increased (would like it to be a constant but hey at least it was there tonight).

Taipans best game of year obviously and what should be the game plan/identity of this team.

Crowd was well below 4000 no matter what the numbers say but got into it tonight which was great.

The driver needs to stop taking it for granted that his bullet train will just rock up on time at every station and start actually looking out the front window for obstacles. Lesson learned hopefully. They've got 3 days to clear the tracks, get Bairstow back on board and get moving again which should be enough time.

Great to see Cairns getting a win, but not overly surprising. Bairstow's absence leaves the Bullets very thin in the frontcourt. With him and the new import they're a different proposition.

Great for the Cairns fans to finally get a win, and keeps things a little interesting regarding Brisbane.
Good to see Kenny among the points, I always thought he had more to give.

But yeah, Bairstow is a big out for them, what is his injury? How long is he out for?
WTF happened to Gliddon? Only took 3 shots the whole game?

I actually like gliddon apart from his tendency to try and cheat during games but I have never seen a stat line like his before. 20 odd minutes for 1 point 0 rebs and 0 ass. It would rank as probably the worst game by a single person in nbl history

Gliddon has always been overrated. He churns out a handful of big games a season which sucks people into thinking he's a star and then spends the rest of the season doing not much or even disappearing completely.

Hard for Gliddon to produce when he doesn't get plays run for him.
How many other fringe Boomers shooting guards in the league would have only put up double figures FG attempts three times in their last ten games? Same as when he was in Cairns, if he is made an offensive focus he would be able to produce more
