Yeah I agree about the matchups. Some potential rippers among that list of games. In particular I'm hoping the Lightning-Caps and Boomers-Lightning live streams come to fruition.
Great opportunity for the Rangers to move up the ladder as well. In fact if they beat both Sydney & Bendigo, and Adelaide lose to Canberra or Melbourne, then the Rangers will be in the top 4.

Yes indeed.
I think Bendigo are done. They've already got 8 in the losses column, and their remaining games are:
Home vs Townsville, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra
Away @ Dandenong, Canberra
Mostly home games is good news, but that's a strong list of opponents.

Townsville would want to take care of business at home vs Perth this Friday or else they're 3 losses below .500 instead of just one loss below.
Their remaining games are:
Home vs Perth, Canberra x2, Dandenong, Sydney
Away @ Bendigo, Canberra, Sydney, Dandenong
(weird bit of scheduling for them not to have played Canberra yet)
Suzy obviously a huge factor in their fortunes.

Dandenong have:
Home vs Bendigo, Canberra, Townsville, Melbourne
Away @ Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Townsville
... so they'd want to win both games this round because it gets tough after that. But if they're in wining mode and get Blicavs back then they have some firepower to finish the season with.

Capitals cop fine but Perth Lynx star Asia Taylor waits on apology

Interesting line from that article (which was published yesterday):

Bendigo's Barbara Turner was today suspended for one match after the league looked into an incident where she struck Taylor on Friday night.

The league sure seemed to keep that one quiet!

I know they lost to Sydney last week but the Boomers must be laughing at Canberra getting dominated by Adelaide and Perth being outgunned by a Suzy-less Townsville.

Yeah, Lightning surging, Dandenong picking up stream as well, Fire keeping themselves alive, while the top 3 are all showing various levels of vulnerability. That's definitely good for the comp.

When the Lynx lose we really lose big. Average losing margin = 19 points. Lowest losing margin = 12 points.
Adelaide beating Canberra didn't surprise me, but the margin sure did. They are flying right now!

Wallace not listed today so I guess we won't be seeing her. Pity, because this is pretty much a training run for Canberra, which would be the ideal introduction to the league for her.
A couple of Shyla Heal moments about the only bright points for Perth. Otherwise... yikes. Every bit the pummelling I was afraid of.
Mitchell looking good I agree. I like Rocci looking for her shot as well (as long as it is dropping, which it definitely is today). It's making life pretty easy for Tolo. Griffin just in cruise control, knowing that she can probably dominate at will, but doesn't need to today.

Adelaide still looking (on the Boxscore) good against Melbourne. It's such crap that the stream is a total fail yet again.

Lynx started to make some inroads and Griffin was just like "No worries, I got this" and the game changed from Canberra destroying us as a team to Kelsey destroying us on her own.
Perth in total freefall right now. Next game is at home vs Sydney Uni. Couldn't ask for a better scenario to get back in the wins column, but the way we're playing lately it's no gimme.

The difference b/w this season and last season regarding Cole is amazing.
I can only put down too coaching. It just seems that players need to leave Molloy to become better players. Last season example is Kunek to Perth.
When will the owners of Melbourne work it out. What a mistake of signing him for ANOTHER two years. Just look how he coaches from the side line. Who has the guy developed. Can someone reply, am I missing something.

Boomers are on the top of the ladder right now.

They lost the grand final in game 3 last year.

The Cole improvement is due to injury free time and playing a full season of wnbl plus 3 on 3 and SEABL in the offseason.

The Cole move to Dandy has helped both Cole and Garrick develop this year with more opportunities.

This league is not a development league about forcing minutes and opportunities into youngsters.

Guy Molloy isn't perfect although he has the trust of ownership and the runs are on the board now.

Molloy even with a bought ready made roster fails getting the best out of even the best
He's never been any different, who ever the contacts are he has at Melbourne they really need to take their glasses off though to see this, they reappointed v him at the beginning of the season, when they should be looking at what he’s achieved ( which is zero in terms of championship results) and then deciding in between seasons , if he should be reappointed.
Right now they are flogging a dead horse retaining him as head coach, it’s like Groundhog Day every season.

Cole is having a blinder of a season because she’s literally gone from a coach who over controls to a coach with no control , and for Cole as far as her getting noticed by Opals staff, that’s probably what she needed

Molloy stifles players, Conti though was over hyped, and always struggled against older more experienced players, and being so young and small she got away with so much those first two seasons, now not getting away with the hand checks and her decision making is an issue, she can still make a few flashy junior plays but don’t think Molloy can get the full blame for her game this season unless you only look at the limited minutes due to more than experienced players being on the roster,
