Maybe an attempt to maintain fan interest in a crappy season?

Massive news. With LeBron gone, this is Delly's team now.

Interesting deal. On the face of it the Bucks got hosed. Giving up a first rounder for a guy who doesn't add anything more than their current starters. And while Henson is overpaid, he's a solid reserve.

Its really about clearing cap though, and giving up draft picks is the price of cap space next summer.

If they can land a good free agent this deal will prove to be a good one.

For the Cavs its just about acquiring assets.

Cavs win out in this one - much as I like Delly, it will help Cavs stay near the bottom for this season (with some great draft picks for those who finish bottom), as well as improve Cavs picks in the next few years as part of rebuilding.

Yeah no brainier for Cavs. Get worse and confirm a bottom 3 spot.

Zion Williamson is a franchise talent.
Hope Dellavedova gets more minutes which shouldn't be hard on a crap team.
Maker should get more time with Henson gone.

Bucks didnt get hosed at all, this is a great trade by Horst and fixed up some of the bloating on their roster. Delly is a below average PG and Henson is broken. Hill, while is a part-time Mr Glass, when he's fit he's a quality backup PG and spot starter.

Sam Dekker and Jason Smith were also included in this deal, with Dekker being traded twice in the day and ending up in Washington and Smith with the Bucks. This also opens up some playing time for Thon.

The first was required to dump salary and they are now around $19 mill under the cap. The Bucks are now a player in free agency and if that first aligns with Giannis contracted years then it's a late first rounder and worth it to be a player in FA. George Hill is only guaranteed $1 mill if he gets waived.

Middleton, Bledsoe and Brogdon are free agents this coming off-season. Bucks improving their finances as well as upgrading their backup PG for this year.
