WNBL seeking Brisbane team

Interesting to see Basketball Australia seeking tender applications for a Brisbane based team:

Thoughts on whether this is the right move and whether there's any other expansion cities worth looking at?

Possibly has something to do with their TV deal with Fox or FTA TV chances perhaps?

See if Basketball Qld steps up and bids for a licence , the last attempt with Heal coaching out at Logan was a disaster.
Some very good young QLD players still around and more coming back from College would make them more than competitive.

Why that last team had Heal involved was baffling.

Oh and I'm disappointed the clear "has to be X" meme for cities with possible reintroduced teams wasn't spotted. It's only been used on here about a million times.

Another one season wonder if either of those associations are granted a license. One is the armpit of Queensland while the other would be led by the 2nd last guy to fail at maintaining at license in Brisbane.

Really going in the wrong direction.
The Quicker they align the wnbl clubs with their Nbl counterparts the better.
Wnbl will struggle against other female codes even more if it does not.
It's not difficult to do atm but it will be harder the longer they wait.

so becuase of a TV deal that pays effectivly no money we;ll create a new team that will lose money.....what a great business plan!
