Mornington Fees Rip Off

MORNINGTON FEE RIP OFF
Mornington needs to explain to its members and new parents how they can justify such a huge price hike in junior rep fees.
From 490.00 to 640.00 over 30% increase, add another 350.00 for compulsory gear and uniforms thats 996 and what do you get for it ?

Coached by an inexperienced parent (com member)

Playing in or around East 50

Little success most likely finishing near the bottom of the ladder

They don't have the coaches or the rankings to warrant these fees
I beleive Dandy is similar but they have state and national coaches, great rankings and a very strong senior program.
Be interesting to see what breakers can offer for the bucks

Southern Pen removing YL womens program should save them some money.

Mornington soap opera is always played well out on this forum (reaches for popcorn)

May I ask who is glossy down there - they had a Senior Womens program with 8 players, a YL side that was a Regional VJBL team.

I will say they always did Pizza post game spread which is special as it is effective and wish more teams would do that.

YL women didnt win a game at Mornington all season. Surely they will only have 1 womens team next year and try and make that successful.
Not enough talent to spread to 2 teams or even 1 really

Their men will be decent. Some solid players will hit the floor for them

I think things have not been great in the past but they are on the improve. Getting a senior Big V men's team back up and running is a big step in the right direction.

Most of their YL men could step up to D2M not much of a difference in standard

Are you serious put the ylm players in D2 they would get slaughtered every week.. no real talent there

If they are going to charge $640 for juniors what are they going to charge for the seniors. Or is this why the junior fees have to go up by so much to cover the senior costs. Just a question.

Every club uses the juniors to fund seniors.

Its justified by then ensuring there is a pathway.

Its a tired argument for me the why is juniors paying for seniors, to provide THAT pathway you want

To create positive vibes in the community when they play in the playoffs
So players don't stop playing at 19
Health and jobs for local coaches and potential pathways into elite opportunities

The only downside is if clubs don't look after their own, bring in too many players from outside or pay 'bum' imports

Juniors should fund Seniors, when you invest - you invest in the future.

that is sound reasoning but it must be invested and invested well not just used as consolidated revenue for own end projects.
