Fun hit-out against a pretty mediocre USA team tonight. A few take-aways from a fairly meaningless game:
- dkd can shoot the 3 when he's wide open, or guarded by a jet-lagged teenager. hope he can do it when damian Martin's got one hand in his face and and the other trying to strip the ball out his hands
- Jawai failed to pick up this year's season-ending injury in about 15 minutes of play (although a few lads did try and tangle up with him until they came to their senses.. silly boys)
- the reason mitch young can have 40 point games in the qbl is because he's built like a tank and is about 4" taller than the players around him. this won't happen when he's playing against nbl players. He still has no touch around the rim and moves up and down the court like the BFG walking home late from the pub.
- what the actual fuck is Shaun Bruce doing there? presumably a last-minute call-up because dj newbill's plane was delayed. but whispers of him "doing a waxy" and hanging around as a training player hoping an injury spot opens up
- and Brad Hill's there too! .. talk about a blast from the past. fortunately helping out the coaching staff rather than suiting up.
- did those two imports shrink on the plane or what?
