Yeah nice job Kickert for holding a gun to the Philippines' heads and forcing them to take part in one of the most disgusting sights seen on a basketball court since Malice in the Palace.... *eyeroll*

Nice job Philippines for hopefully putting your 2023 world cup hosting gig in jeopardy with that disgusting display.

It doesn't excuse the Philippines reaction, but it was a hell of a hit and there's no room in the game for it.

Perversely, it was Goulding's flop that made the hit look worse than what it was which fooled Kickert and he stood up for his teammate when it wasn't justified. No Goulding flop = no Kickert elbow = no brawl.

Putting all the other madness aside, Kickerts elbow to the jaw of an opponent who was not facing him is a dog act and he should be suspended heavily. It was the exact definition of a king hit, and the 3rd man in should always be disciplined the heaviest. If the guys jaw was broken he'd be facing criminal charges.

If only the Filipino's had the sense and discipline to react like this instead of an all in brawl.

I can see your point. The thing is kickert is around 6'10 6'11 and the guy he elbowed was 6'2. It was with bad intentions you can replay the vids over and over again. The link you posted josh is about the same height as the guy he elbowed and not so much force.

Not excusing the Filipino's behaviour at all, but Kickert's had a mare here. He's over-reacted on both occasions (pre-game shove and night night elbow) and caused the ruckus.

There was a pregame shove?

Who cares if Goulding flopped, seems to keep coming back to this being the cause.
The phillipino baketball team are a disgrace, nothing more than gutless cowards.
Surely anyone siding with them are un-Australian and should leave the country immediately.
It's about time we supported our own and stop sucking up to other countries.
Sobey, Goulding and Basketball Australia need to take legal action against those pathetic cowards.

Except maybe for the philo players who saved Goulding from having his head stomped into the concrete... you'll find there were about 4-5 of the philo players being excessively violent, probably put Kickert in with them.
The biggest problem was the officials and non playing staff who got involved, like the guy who hit Sobey, that's where the lengthiest suspensions should be.

Interesting watching the 3 refs casually stroll to the half way line in front of the bench whilst everyone else was beating the clappers out of each other. Didn't even make a feeble attempt to break things up. Wouldn't see that in the NBA or anywhere else I'd imagine.

Good point. I tols you the refs are to blame here. They can the cheap shot from both parties should called Technicals right away.

Sorry, but nomatter how much you want to cane the Flippers for their violence, Kickets reaction and hit is completely unacceptable and warrants a long suspension.

Whether its justified, in the manner of sticking up for your mate, is unfortunately irrelevant at this level.

Oh you are wrong. Those who attacked sobeeeee one. Should be ban by fiba. All I'm trying to point out here. We are talking like we are the victim's yet we all know how kickert and goulding play. They hosted a lot of different countries even powerhouse Euro teams. Rugged tough new zealand and their mortal enemies china but no brawl what so ever. Just maybe it says something about us. Our attitude.
