Premier League Rounds 11/12
Saturday
Woodville vs Centrals
Lions would be feeling comfortable after a couple of recent victories. Both Jimma Dau and Riccardo Martin have been consistent performers while big import Keith Jumper could have a field day against an undersized opponent. Perry hasn't been playing much (not sure if form or injury) but he would need to fire along with Everett Osborne to challenge.
Centrals by 9.
North vs Southern
One of a few great matchups this weekend. After a shock loss, North regrouped last week and with some added firepower returning looked much better last week. Southern only played one good quarter last week but it was enough to get by Sturt. Hillcrest is a unique place to play and North will be seeking to avenge their earlier drubbing at Morphett Vale.
North by 4. Starling 36 and 22.
Norwood vs West Adelaide
Speaking of great matchups, this is looking like a preview of August. Both teams have been in good form, with narrow wins over Forestville and narrow losses to Southern. McGriff now a serious MVP candidate after his 40 point performance last week. Not sure if Dowdell or Jordan West will play, which could be the difference.
West by 8 if both play. West by 3 if one plays. Norwood by 6 if neither play. Yes, the fence is a comfortable place to sit!
Sturt vs Forestville
This may actually be the most important game of the weekend. Sturt seemingly overwhelmed last week in the first quarter but admirably won the last 3 quarters. Forestville came up crushingly short against West. Have heard DJs stint is up in Argentina so wouldn't be surprised to see him suit up this weekend. A win would put Sturt a game + the split above Forestville and I'd say almost cement their finals campaign, and Tony's COTY along with it.
Sturt by 3 in a semi upset.
Eastern vs South
Teams seemingly trending in opposite directions. Would expect a close match but have a feeling Rios is in better form than anyone at South and will lead the Mavs to victory.
Mavs by 6.
No time for full Sunday preview yet but quickly:
Norwood over Centrals by 12 in a fast paced match
Southern over Eastern by 8 in a closer affair than people expect
West over Sturt by 7 regardless of West or Dowdell playing
Woodville over South by 6 in the battle of the sinking ships
North over Forestville by 9 to complete a huge weekend for the Rockets
