Didn't realise he's only 23. Can still be a good role player and play a few positions.

Yeah, no thanks.

Overplayed by Lemanis last season. Had a small number of bright spots but these were far outweighed by the duds.

Te Rangi doesn't get much love but he improved last season and its good to see the Bullets repay that with an extension.

Dome rat, you're name is baffling, not the signing of a young future stud who has huge upside.

This clearly adds fuel to the fire that Te Rangi is Lemanis's secret love child.

Huge upside? He's been in the league six seasons already.

Would've been ideal to cut bait rather than re-sign him.

If they got him really cheap this makes sense.

Not sure he'll ever be more than a end of bench role guy but at only 23 its worth a bit more time.

Anything over 60K a year is an overpay as wouldn't be any teams outside of the NZBL chasing him.

Seems like a solid signing as long ad you're not giving him star money which would be a given. I think he has another level to get to. Don't think he'll ever be a star, but he'll be around the league for a while yet

Reality, you have no sense of value within the player market. He is better (and younger ) than most college kids coming in the same age.

POOR effort from Brisbane to re-sign him. He is fair at best, is never going to do any better than bog average role player. Would Perth have re-signed him? NO, they would have been ruthless and cut him loose. That is why their culture is the strongest.

Hard to write him off when SObey is 27 and has blossomed over the last two years

As one poster mentioned, I think a lot of people don't realise that he is still young, and hence have unfair expectations of him. Probably used more than they’d like this season due to the group as a whole.

Agree, if he didn’t commmand too much $$$ and they can put a better group around (in front) of him then not a bad signing.

He defiantly grew this season and hopefully he continues on that trajectory.

He "defiantly" grew?

LMAO. Did someone tell him he wasn't allowed to?

Te Rangi-Cadee starting front court?

Feels like Te Rangi has been in the league for 10 years already. He's the ultimate "one step forward, four steps back" player, sometimes all within the one possession.

Overplayed by Lemanis last season.
Was it that egregious though? Who should've been played in front of him? Especially once their season was a wreck and Buford was uncovered as less than a team player. I don't think they had anyone else at his position. Holt and Gibson weren't brilliant. Bruce seemed to decline from Cairns days.

He averaged half a game of play over the season, which is consistent with the minutes he played prior to the Bullets becoming bare bones with injury/Perrin leaving. He only played 3-4 more minutes when times were desperate. As per game logs.

Sorry Isaac, that didn't answer your question.

I think his playing time was unnecessary. I saw him played consistently between the 2-4 spots so it wasn’t though as he was glued to one position. A large part of the issue is that Lemanis seemed too stubborn to deviate from his game plan / was unable to make in-game adjustments. Too many times RTR ballsed something basic up, only to be left on the court. Was surprised he rarely got pulled for indiscretions when there were more capable scorers / ball handlers riding the bench. A lot of hoo haa said about how he is a big body and good defender but to be honest he didn’t move the needle on defence either and lost his player more often than not. Brisbane would’ve been better off playing at least playing Fullarton a little more when results didn’t matter.

7 other teams will be high fiving each other that he’s returning for another two seasons :)

I couldn't believe how he basically was unpullable. He single handedly lost games for the Bullets but never pulled to the bench. Such a head scratcher.

Good signing, and when you see guys like Thoseby in the league, and you're complaining about Reuben, you obviously have no idea about budgets and player availability across the league.
