I'm sorry but that is just disgraceful from NZ. You can't play one quarter and expect to win.
Maybe a few of our TBs got a bit too carried away with the 'holiday' and forgot theyre here to do a job. Sheesh!
Wow. I didn't believe this at first.
Would have to be up there as one of the biggest upsets of the games so far.

You obviously never watched them. NZ couldn't beat a WNBL team.
Considering NZ beat them by 22 on April 8 that is a pretty stupid comment Thunder Jam

One of the worst losses the Tall Blacks have sustained on the world stage.

Sheesh. I didn't even bother to watch the NZ game because I just assumed it'd be a comfortable win, and I guess the Tall Blacks did much the same...

Embarrassing for Australia then as NZ went very close to beating us a few days ago. You possibly don't understand the difference in standards between leagues.

What's more embarrassing is the referees. They are woeful.
Most sites had NZ head to head bet at $1.00. That's how big this upset was.

Don't know how Te Rangi ends up playing the most minutes (had 7 points, 5 TO's and 4 PFs).
Also sad to see some NZ players posting on IG an hour after the loss of them enjoying the games village.
This one is gonna go down to the wire. as in why are we still including basketball in the com games.

Refs are trash and are soft as marshmallows.

We're playing absolute trash, and this isn't close. How did NZ lose to these guys?

NZ didn't play for 40 minutes. Long time to ho, canada will make a run.

Canada didn't step out of court but called for doing so.

Angus travelled, not called. These refs are garbage.

Jason Cadee is the worst free throw shooter of all guards.
Isn't the Canadian team all college players or did I hear that wrong?
I really hope the Wildcats are able to snag both Kay and Gliddon
stealing good players from other teams is their best hope since they are useless at developing their own

Well, technical foul on Morgan even though didn't do anything. Lol.

Unsportsmanlike foul against Kickett for a soft push in the back lol
"Stealing good players from other teams is their best hope since they are useless at developing their own"
While they may have been slightly more established, lots of players in recent years have still improved and developed while playing for the Wildcats.
Also NBL is a bit different to other leagues/sports when it comes to developing young players. With no draft and players moving around so much in the league, it's hard to justify investing too much time in very young players.
oh yeah I forgot the Wildcats turned Ennis and Ingram into NBA players
Got to get Kickert out of the game. Just awful with the ball. Why is he establishing the offense?

Goulding was from Perth as a development player.
Daniel Johnson, Jawai, Casey Prather, Alex Laughton, Stephen Weigh, Tom Jervis, has improved or developed when younger either through the Wildcats or WA associated leagues in which Wildcats do put alot of energy into.
my Ennis Ingram post was a piss take but you just made it real
Wilburs it's a strange reality you live in. #Perthworld
Boomers get bumped for the netball. Ouch!
LK still has some work to do.

Loved it when Gaze said to Casey that a player for Canada plays like Casey, a bit slower and he is a bit slower lol

Um why are some saying Boomers bumped for the Netball? Excuse me but the Netball side has far higher status than the Boomers and has achieved more.. If a survey was done, more in OZ would care about the Australian Netball side the Diamonds than the Boomers or the Opals...
And also so much for the haters calling Canada a Big V side
"Um why are some saying Boomers bumped for the Netball?"
Because that is what happened.

The crowd seems underwhelmed by the gold medal win. NZ really devalued the gold by succumbing in the semis.

Australia is choking in the netball. I rather watch the Boomers than watch the Diamonds choke.
Diamonds have greater status than the Boomers? You gotta be kidding. Netball is not even an Olympic sport. It cracks me up listening to the netball commentators who over hype what it actually is. Boring!
I'd rather watch a close game than a massive blowout.
Unless it is netball. I just can't get into it.
Bloody hell calling a choke pretty bloody early there

Yeah, exactly. I think the whole tournament was a waste of time for the Boomers. I appreciate that these guys want to compete for their country, and all the more power to them, but how can you celebrate smashing a bunch of really shit basketball teams? I actually think the Boomers under-performed a bit today and played down to their opposition but still won by 40. It might be good for the ego but it does nothing to prepare the team and program for the real competition we will face in a year's time. This particular Boomers team wouldn't have its way with the B and C teams of the European nations, and those are the countries we should be more interested in meeting up with.
What rubbish ME. Anybody from this team that actually makes the World Cup team will hardly hit the court if at all. This team has no need worrying about the "teams we will meet next year" because none of them will be playing.

Same way anybody celebrates winning gold in the Comm Games.
Same way the USA team celebrates at the Olympics.
Same way we all celebrated the extra Golds in Moscow and LA.
Plus most of these guys wouldn't get a gig at the Olympics and Worlds, so this is a big deal for them.
Might as well say that they shouldn't celebrate an NBL championship barbecue its a shit league compared to the NBA.

It's the commonwealth games so no one cares, right?

Wow, did Australia really choked in the netball? I went to Red Rooster, got back and England getting gold medals.
Australia didn't turn up mentally early on, warning signs were there yet thdy did nothing to adjust.
not sure what is worse, watching a netball choke or eating red rooster

Netball was a hell of a lot more exciting than the basketball.

Agree with ME that this tournament is a social outing for the Boomers. Australia gained nothing it was like A grade men playing D grade on Monday night.
In reality Canada sent a 3rd stream to play a 2nd stream Australisn outfit. Come Olympics maybe Kay may get a jersey. The rest are all great players but few will get a look in when our NBA players put their hands up.
"I went to Red Rooster"
