Seating Saga All Star Weekend

I can now confirm that there will not be extra seating installed on court two. We have been told by BASA and Badge Construction that extra seating is not allowed to be placed on the second court, due to the problems of that court. Legalities enter into the condition of the court 2 floor. We were told of this last night.
Before everyone starts sounding off about bad planning, changing courts and other such hints that this weekend wasn't planned out properly, I will endeavour to explain the process.
Extra seating was considered and planned, and contingency plans were used when the seating from Wayville was not available (show seating owned by show people and seating used for Lightning to big to fit inro Pasadena). Companies were approached about hiring extra seating and was just about sealed when we were notified no.
The state of the court caught us by surprise and we did push the point that the seating would be on side lines, not on the court, and we had engineering input as well.

Cannot change stadiums. Wayville has Royal show, Dome is only available Saturday and Mt Barker might affect people's decision to go (water bag trip - not).

Another main reason Pasadena was chosen was that the Sturt basketball club has offered 50/% of canteen and bar takings (after all costs have been met) to be shared amongst the three teams going to Geelong (although Mavs president was confident they could do the same - but their bar and canteen is another matter.)
Also , remember they had a huge crowd at the Mavs/Sabres finals game.
Sorry about that.

As has been said before if Stadium management was part of the decision making process none of the issues re double booking and extra seating would have been a problem.

I'm all for the event just that people need to realise that the clubs don't have free rein on the stadiums they call home.

How are ticket sales looking?

Is there a reduced maximum to be let in the door because of the change in seating?

Can people buy over the phone with a credit card, or only pay in cash at the Dome?

that's cool - do your best - let's make this a regular fixture - and progessively build it up. Anything to get the floors fixed up at pasadena is a must.
To pay thousands of dollars and end up with floor problems like thay have at Pasadena is total lack of quality control by the builder or planner.

We need 20-30 years out of that stadium - let's get it right for our future.

Stadium management was in the loop. When the seating was being talked about, management was told and games schedules for that day were moved to another stadium, I was assured of that. If you want to insinuate that people at BASA do not keep the stadium management informed, so be it. As a matter of fact one of the organisors of this event spoke directly to the stadium manager about the all star event.
Player, if you are the one upset about missing your social game, did you know that the stadium is used on Sunday, after our event, for other games that aren't social? Did management tell you that?

You didn't answer Issac's question are they going to reduse the number of tickets for sale or is this event going to be so crowded some punters won't be able to see. How many tickets have been sold?

I cannot answer the question on how many tickets have been sold as I cannot get an answer.
We are looking at having the same amount of spectators as were at the Sturt/Mavs final, and everybody could see the game then. If more show up then that, then yes, we will have to have a closed house sign. My apologise for that, my main concern has been that no one shows up, and it still is a concern as the only advertising that's been done has been on this site. I haven't had a chance to visit all the stadiums, but posters were given to all the clubs, how many are actually up? I am also awaiting Boti's column tomorrow as well.
I know this doesn't sound right, but I would rather turn people away then have an empty house. Those people turned away would play a very important part in securing a permanent date, whether mid season or end season, for an annual all star weekend and would also help in securing a venue that will cater for all and most importantly help out a charity and ALL the clubs financially.
Hope this has answered your questions.

I agree that a full house is best. I don't mind standing either (people: don't remind me of that if you get there late and want my seat! Haha).

Next year, I think that tickets could be sold by clubs and potentially sporting outlets. Trade sponsorship with Red Rock for ticket availability in their restaurants or something.

The teams look good and I think there'll be four huge games.

I can assure you that no posters advertising the All Star game were given to the Forestville Eagles to put up at the Wayville Sports Centre

Who was waiting for Boti's article? I thought it was terrible today (Thursday). An inaugural All-Star Game that you guys are trying to get off the ground and he includes a picture of Musty Dykefart and no real pumping up of the all-star game whatsoever.

Very disappointing, Boti.

It looks like Boti's column wasn't run, obviously The Tiser had space problems, and could only run his feature, rather than the columna s well.

I am sure it will be a great turn out, looking forward to seeing some great games.
