Home court advantage

How many finals series have been won by teams without home court advantage?

How many finals (and regular season) games have been won by away teams?

Percentages and an historical perspective would be good. Is the league becoming more favourable towards home teams?

Someone could know. Even individual seasons would be interesting. This might give some perspective to the "home cooking" and “conflict of interest re Melbourne” colouring this forum lately.

At least if you start a thread like this provide the stats yourself. Very lazy. Do the leg work yourself and don't expect others to. Look forward to stats provided by you. Good topic though.

1979- 2017

9 of 37 gf series won by away teams (24.324%) won by away teams.

Of those the first 7 were 1 off finals (2 of 7 or 28.57) won by away teams.

So, historically, home team has about 3 in 4 chance of winning a grand final series in the NBL.

Joey Wright's Brisbane Bullets won the championship in Melbourne in 2007. Looking for a case of deja vu in Game 5.
