How do points work in this? This makes it sound like he scores 4600 points per game.

They are ranking points based on his previous results which were all earned in the CLB3X3 events.

Hey LC, while you are correct in that all his previous points have been earned playing in our CLB3X3 events, these previously earned points have no bearing on what points a player earns in future events they play in.
It all depends on how many teams are entered into a catagory and what Fiba ranking that particilar event has.

Steele should earn around 15600 points for that event taking him to No1 in Australia.

Went to Wakefield St and it was highly disorganised with many teams simply not showing up and the organisers not knowing what to do

There was about 12 people in the crowd

Also went in Adelaide. A number of teams apparently withdrew which impacted their schedule. Crowd was puny and it was very hot with no shade. People were watching from under the stands it was so hot. If I wanted to be harsh, I'd judge it accordingly, but I thought the format works well, MC did well enough, and the two games I saw were entertaining. I think with a bit more effort and less brutal weather it could be really decent. Virtually no promotion beforehand and invisible even from 100m away.

Steel, Greer and Conn’s team won the prize money. Conn and Steel were really solid.

Oscar (on the runner up team with Schenscher) said it was a challenge playing 3x3 for the first time. Ball is a size smaller, reffing is different, rules, etc. He went to in-bounds after the first time the opponent scored and got called for travel and out of bounds - ha! They ended up playing 6x 10min games in 35 degree heat and full sun.

3X3 is tough and is at the mercy of the elements as Oscar would have found out! That iAthletic core group have been getting around and would have close to half a dozen of events under their belt over the past 3-4 months.

NBL CCO Andy Crook, CLB3X3 GM Matt Hollard and BA GM Paul Maley all interviewed for this article on 3X3 basketball moving forward.

Some interesting Sunday reading.
