Dana Wortley - MP announced today that the new Rockets home will have 5 full sized basketball courts.
Awesome news for basketball in little old SA.
Didn't know they built half courts...only in Adelaide is the emphasis on full sized to make sure you knew, bit like the old one way freeway ;-)

Yes, snigger away Victorians. We are a small city, with a small population and have about 90% less registered basketball players than you, so this is newsworthy and exciting for our little city.
They will be full sized, premium courts with premium equipment.
It will be a damn good thing for the state and for the Rockets. Hillcrest stadium is a history filled little place but it's so dated.
Norwood basketball club struck a deal with local govt which was meant to include an upgrade to their home to include 5 full sized courts, but only 2 ended up being full sized the other 3 are training courts, really messed that one up (the govt)
Hopefully there is bigger sidelines to keep Hawkes off the playing arena engaging with players.

this is great - investment in our local community and youth, new stadiums create jobs and interest in local sport, well done to all concerned - a lot of new housing going up in the area - definite move forward. Hopefully we will see a bid for u14 nationals or other significant national comps. Same with st clair.
Do they build basketball courts that aren't full sized? Serious question.
