Hawks vs Breakers, Feb 2

Critical game for Illawarra if they have any chance remaining. NZ might only need to get this to feel that much more confident of a post-season?

Your tip?

Why is Rakeem Christmas only playing 15mpg;

Looks like he has been in foul trouble; but still how does R.Loe play more minutes than him?

Anyway; as to a tip; I think it will go into OT with Hawks sneaking a win.

I get that in sport there is a lag in how a fan views the level of a team's play, but come on lads! Let's drop this perception of New Zealand being a really good team. Since the 9-game win streak they are a whopping 4-8. They ain't on the level any more.

Hawks to romp.

If NZ are going to be anywhere near competitive come finals time then then need to start getting themselves into some sort of form.

The Hawks are still a sneaky (but unlikely) chance at taking the breakers spot in the top 4 and it starts with tonight.

3 games still to be played between these two and there is currently a 3 game difference so it really is do or die for the Hawks, win to close the gap or lose and start planning those holidays.

Penny, Abercrombie, Ili and 3xBigs are key for us. I expect Sosa and Newbill to lift if they let the game come to them. Be aggressive but don't do too much.

Hawks win tonight the pressure is on the breakers Sunday - especially with United twice next week. . On these doubles the team playing at home first has the advantage.

NZ's morale must be at an all time low after getting thumped by the mediocre Wildcats. Even at home I think they will struggle with the Hawks.

Conger is bad defensively and stops the ball offensively. Overrated

Hawks been crap all season, to many overrated plodders in the team. Need fresh blood and more athleticism.

Are the Hawks still a chance for the playoffs even if NZ loses both of their next 2 games?

Conger is really the only one on that team that can hold his head high.

The Hawks have been very disappointing this season and a cleanout needs to happen now. Too many guys that wouldn't make any other team's roster.

It was dangerous to write the Breakers off - they have all the pieces to perform at a high level.

Integrating Christmas has clearly been challenging, but we finally saw Loe / Christmas and, in particular, Vukona / Pledger. That was the difference inside and on the glass. I felt Henare was proactive, rather than reactive, and if they can build on that on Sunday they could gain some much needed momentum before the playoffs.
