Wildcats get extra calls and 50/50's at home
Well it's an official fact now. Dean Vickerman said so....

Can confirm they do get the calls. United to win on Friday though
Not as bad as Adelaide playing anywhere, but it is true.
Yeah, because Melb Utd have never been helped at home. Laughable.

I hope the Wildcats fans try that much harder to influence the refs. Teach naughty Deano a lesson!
Gotta be all those middle aged men with rats tails and strong voices influencing the referees from their seats.
Especially the tall ones. They can be very intimidating.

typical vics trying to intimidate refs into becoming so unbiased that they start favouring mu. bunch of tossers
typical uneducated west aussies thinking that extremely unbiased = favouring one team
I'm definitely backing United now. This happens once a season, a coach has a pre-game whinge, comes here and the refs want to make a point that they don't favour the cats at home by calling everything against the Cats.
They already tried to help MU at the earlier game this season at Perth Arena. Wildcats got a majority of poor calls in the second quarter which got MU back in the game and them a half time lead.
Wildcats home cooking is extremely overrated imo. Do they get a better run with the refs on some 50/50 calls at home? Yeah. Do most teams in the league, as well as teams across all sports get that too? Yeah.
A lot of people just hate the Wildcats, look into it too much and focus on these calls that go Perth's way. People don't seem to focus much on the handful of shit calls Perth can also get at home each game. While its not a huge amount, there's too many of these bad calls imo to claim that Perth have some ridiculously big advantage with the refs at home that other teams don't have.

It's our job as supporters at the game to be audible when a 50/50 situation is being adjudicated by the referee and try and influence the referee, whether that be Perth, other NBL teams, NBA or international fixtures... I refuse to apologise for it too and instead encourage all that attend games to help refs as they are about to blow their whilstle
Refs call what they think. This notion that somehow the crowd influences their decision making is overblown. The problem with our refs is their interpretation of the same rules seems to change every quarter. You really dont have time to sit and think about a call, and thats from amatuer social leagues it must be 10 fold in nbl. Vickerman is just trying to make sure he gets a few calls, frankly all he should get is a fine for attempted tempering.
Considering the refs let Perth back into the game in the fourth with all the soft fouls against Brandt while nothing being called down the other end (5 fouls to 1 in the first three minutes of the quarter), I'd say Vickermann had a point.
