NZ vs Adelaide - 4910 (NBL box score)

is that a small number for the venue?

PeterJohn, for two top 4 teams playing against each other on a Friday night in a 9000+ seat arena - yes thats a small number. Not sure if its a disappointing crowd because they have had smaller crowds before and the near 5000 is around their average anyway.

Should have been higher though.

I have read here that NZ crowds prefer Thursday games, if that's truly the case then why not accomodate the fans with the lions share of Thursdays

Thursdays are better for NSEC, Fridays are better for Spark.

Cairns usually do well in the school holidays, especially before Christmas. there were loads of families there Thursday night. Great to see.

Cairns crowds have been very strong this season by the looks of it. A club that is certainly punching above its weight. Are the Taipans a big deal in Cairns? They seem to have a lot of support for a small population.

What is the participation numbers for kids in Cairns between the ages of say 5-18 year olds?

Do many youngsters play basketball in Cairns?

Good turn out for the Cats with Day 3 of the Ashes on at the same time. Wouldn't have been surprised if crowd numbers were down slightly.

Good turn out in Sydney today as well. I would of understood a crowd of less than 100 showing up considering the Kings recent form and effort levels but the got 4380

Great turn out for the Wildcats, as usual, but pretty fucking pissweak numbers for Illawarra and Sydney...

Spenceley needs to stop playing fantasy basketball and get his team behind getting numbers to games or they won't be able to keep this up...

As for Sydney, pretty pathetic... By all accounts, it was just over 3000 through the door (a mate talking to one of the door peeps) so that number is obviously inflated by members not turning up obviously not enough members to account for the discrepancy) and corporate tickets etc...

Afgree with the anon above that anything over 100 is more than they've deserved, but for the first weekend of the school holidays, 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, those numbers are embarrassing and need to be twice that...
