local finals programmes - my thoughts
this is my 2 bobs worth.
if a grade only has 7 or 8 teams - only a top 4 play finals
if a grade has 9 or 10 - top 5 system.
if 11 or 12 - top 6 play off system.
the minor round should be playing each other twice for an even spread - or in case of only 8 teams per grade - 3 times each equally.
now if the season needs to go longer for basa they can still play
ie - 10 team grade has to go for 25 weeks (to fit in with basa calendar)
they play 18 home and away games - then they play a finals series - starting week 19 - after 2 or 3 weeks of finals, should there be 2 or 3 weeks left - just some round robin competition games would occur.
this allows for a balanced minor round
if there is 8 teams they can play 21 rounds ( each play each others 3 times) - then 3 weeks of finals
if there is 9 teams 16 rounds - then 3 weeks or so of finals then a few "filler' games after
