It hasn't happened... but watching some kids doing some "trick' shots got me wondering if this fluke happened in a gmae would it count?
If a ball leaves a player's hand but somehow bounces on the floor in the field of play & goes into the basket in the prescribed manner would it count?
Yes, its called "pulling a Homer" and Magic Johnson did it in 1991.
As long as it doesn't go out of bounds it is legal.

What about if it left the hands beyond the 3pt arc, bounced inside the arc - would it be counted from the bounce or the release?
Release. There have been buzzer beaters rim in and out before.
