Is there any word out in basketball circles on this years BA Prospects camp that was held in July last year?
By all accounts it was a great success.

No idea.
What about under 17 squads?
NSW announced their players but can not find full squads!

Yeah that's really weird? No announcement on the BA website with the U17's or the prospects event?

Ah, Cochrane is on the injury comeback trail. If she was fit, like Simmons she would be off to u19 worlds.

Hardly call it a success... who got scholarships off the back of it? Pupavac? anyone else?

The rest was just the usual bunch, playing front of the usual bunch of colleges that recruit asutralian kids.

Was no different to a U18 or U20 event... how much did BA charge ? $450? $500? to attend... on top of the accommodation & flights for the colleges? no wonder they only had 20 or so coaches there... success? not really. maybe if they had a decent head of the Ais they would have qualified for u19s and actually had a shot at real exposure. how do you not pick half the players that are at the AIS - for the u19 team? either you have picked the wrong players for the institute - or you have picked the wrong players for the national team.. either way - a dreadful job has been done!

Gorris is the Gems coach cant see that changing till after they play worlds.

then I would imagine a new Gems coach will happen, just hope they dont put either of his current assistants in the job that would spell disaster for sure. They would end up like the boys

According to the BA calendar they are planning on running the Prospects Camp again on July 19 to 21.

I would guess that BA havent mentioned anything about it as they are in the process of getting the event certified. The NCAA event certification process is a long and slow process, applications really werent looked at until last month. The NCAA has put in a new online system and new requirements for event operators so its probably slower than usual.

Theres around 40 events certified for the US summer so far, this is a far cry from the couple of hundred events that run every July.

https://web3.ncaa.org/bbcs/publishedEvents

BA is hamstrung, they cant say the event is certified until the certification is approved which they have no control over.
