Torrey Craig: Best Defensive Player

A popular pick but amongst a competitive field. Anyone strongly disagree?

No disagreement here. Worthy winner.

Thought the 'one player per team' rule was stupid. Can't really not nominate Damo, but McKay was a better chance to win.

Great choice and will be a good pickup for the Wildcats. They need a player like him.

Great winner but lets be honest if Damo was healthy he would win it. He is by far best defensive player in the league

Yep better under Lem, can't say the same for some of the others under his watch. Imagine Craig under Joey !!!

Put it another way, imagine what the coach of doom could do with double the budget and an army of minions at his beck and call like Gleeson has..

I like the award. Thought he was great all round.

McKay influenced a lot of shots in the paint, but Craig is far more mobile, more disciplined and better full court and on ball defender in general, IMO.

P.S. Regarding McKay's discipline, IMO he made a lot of poor decisions leading to cheap fouls, which limited his involvement and production. Professionals need to know when to get out of the way, keep the hands out, or hold one's ground. In a league with dubious refereeing, he shouldn't provide opportunities for soft calls.

No complaints. I would have gone with Whittington, but Craig is a worthy winner.
