In a super close season,he only wins because of the mid season streak. Can anyone seriously say he coached better than last year? He got lucky getting rid of dead wood Gibson & Petrie plus the Sobey significant improvement.

Talk to the players and other coaches and they think differently. Its also about who he selected and developed whether from sixers development or other teams scraps. Its pitting that together around a superstar Randle and allowing him too to be his own man on court and sacrifice at times for the team. Coach who has 100% respect 100% of the time can make that work and also be able to scream at a superstar and hold his respect when he is not performing. Thats rare.

Its also about what a coach knows it takes off the court and at training. All it takes behind the scenes to develop individuals and then get them motoring together as a team. Players and coaches know how hard that is, and when he had injuries he didn't buy in, they don't have the budget that other coaches had yet made it work. Gave the Sobeys of the world the opportunity to step up. How many great players have been sitting on the bench this season. Not at Sixers.

Was the right choice this season. Next may be different but you would be thinking these players would want to be brought back in.

Its well deserved, but I wouldn't say "obvious."

At Face value, I'd have to say that Fearne also did a great job, with a lot less talent. He took his team to 2nd. ROFL.
