Predictions for next season

Does anyone think the ABL league will be any different in terms of team rankings next year?

Itis a bit early for predictions because we know there will be a certain amount of movement of players between teams however we don't know which players and Clubs will be involved.
No doubt Forestville if they can keep the same squad and get Farman, Dix and Mottram back from injuries and I have heard that Jennings will be back after missing this season and he was a big factor in the finals series last year then they no doubt will have to improve on their position of this season.

no doubt the eagles will be back next season zimmerman!!
Dix and Farman huge inclusions, Mottram a potential starter and with Campbell and Sutton in the sixers squad they are bound for improvement....look out! Good old forestville forever.....huh huh, treat IT!!

Kane Oakley to the Flames would be interesting.

Surely a fit Mottram would start over Farman??

What's Pero up to?

I guess Rees would go on to the highest bidder if he played on?

Geez... Farman, Dix, Mottram, Rees, Pero.

Isn't there a salary cap coming in somewhere??

And wouldnt a roster with Mootram, Rees & Pero have too many "restricted" players?? Assuming Pero gets a gig somwehere.

MEN

Mavs - will not win back to back - jacob was close to playing o/s this year - the way he is going... he will be elsewhere - not a lot coming thru u18 / 20s

Woodies - will only be mid range - unless they find a couple of good big men - Eric bradley - back in USa and Whitmore - ?? retiring ???
Rees more likely Woodville than Centrals. Plenty of talent coming thru u18 / 20s - but no 7 footers

North - will go close again - although some of them not getting any younger. Plenty of u18 / 20s coming.

Sturt - if they keep what they have and get williams back - should be ok - but nothing to much coming through u18 / 20s.

Forestville - will be top 4 - depends who they buy - juniors mid range u18 / 20s

West - good u18s coming - will be a couple of years off yet

norwood - starting to mend - stil a season away - good u20s

centrals - still on the way

South - can only get better - moderate juniors coming

Combined universities - wildcard !

hey Dog Nuts dont forget, Brett Lewis, another pre season and he is ready to go.
Can't leave the main man Sullivan out of the equation he will send the salary cap into the red.

The vitamins he takes must be costing the club a fortune, he needs to stick to oranges and pasta.

What the ... didnt know that the Southern Tigers were folding after just one season. Thats very dissapointing news ... you idiot. BTW thanks for your joke of the day can you please waste more of everyones time with your useless posts

(Mod: Someone forgot your team. Maybe they don't know the roster very well. Add in your own prediction and don't bag someone for taking the time to contribute. And if you didn't like the joke, say so on that thread itself.)

Hey Vidmar, i'm going out on a limb and predicting Brett Lewis will get the best sixth-man award in 2005. He's really focused on getting himself cherry-ripe for next season.

As for Sullivan, the eagles salary cap should be fine next year. Apparantely he feels as though he's not up to the standard of the competition anymore and is keen to join SWEENS at the end of the bench, probably in charge of the towels??

Personally i think he would still be of some value, coming in off the bench and knocking a few threes!!!

Isaac, when I said Mottram would be a potential starter I meant he was a potential to actually play with the eagles next season. No doubt he would start if he played. Farman is a slightly forgotten about species (which is understandable because of his injury), but a fully-fit farman should not be under-rated, he is very effective and especially potent offensively. If i was coaching the eagles they would both start.

.....we know how to play the game".Huh,Huh. Yes the eagles will be back next year. Dix, Farnam, Mottram?, Newley? Salary cap won't be a problem, especially if Wood and MacDonald-Taylor do decide to chande codes to footy....word has it they finished out the amature season in fine form. BOG's alround.

Norwood will have

Dan Thompson
Keith Krause
Kane Oakley
Scott Arnold
Ben Lomman
Christian Bell
Toby Schaftenaar
Andrew Webber

This side would surely match all other teams. Especially if Sapwell plays as well as coaches. Norwood will be the team to beat. What do you think Libertine??

Kane Oakley will give them a legitimate centre, at least in the ABL (NBL site lists him as 202 - Oscar is listed at 205).

Krause and Thompson to start in the other two spots, the guard spots up for grabs. If that team can play together, hard to see them getting beat by anyone, considering the salary cap.

north and west and southern have the strongest individual 18's talant and in the right hands could be very deadly in later years
