Letter from Steve Blake

This just went out to the Kings mailing list:

Dear Kings Fans,

As you know, I recently returned to the United States at short notice. It was very important that I re‐joined my family for reasons that are private in nature.

With Sydney Kings management's support, my plan was to return home, assess what would be best for the family, then make a well‐considered decision. I have now made the difficult call that I will not return to the Kings to complete the season.

This decision has been a hard one because I have enjoyed getting to know my teammates, coaches, staff, and most importantly, you ‐ the fans that support the Kings and were so welcoming of me to the club.

One of the reasons I initially signed with the Sydney Kings was their commitment to being a family club. My belief is that family comes first and the Kings strong support of myself and my family shows the club believes this also.

I'm sorry that I cannot continue with the Kings during this exciting time and I'd like to thank everyone at the club for their support ‐ in particular the members and supporters.

Thank you again and good luck with the remainder of this season.

Sincerely,

Steve Blake

No, no, obviously he's a paedophile, drug-trafficker, and terrorist,
and the Kings are covering it up, paying hush money, faking injuries and breaking the rules

Surely he didn't write that bit about wanting to join the Kings because they are a family club

Since Mike Wrublewski was involved with the Kings from Day 1 he has always used the Family Club in his philosophy. Gaze clearly has continued the Tigers theme of Family as well.
Just shows you how little you know about the Kings or the Tigers for that matter.

Just confirmation of what everyone already expected I suppose. So what's Gaze and JVG going to do next?

After that Hawks win, some will probably feel that the current roster would be good enough to go all the way. Realistically some feel that a capable backup at 1 is needed as insurance, which is fair enough considering Lisch is clocking upwards of 33 mins/gm.

If they do bring someone in, I reckon they might wanna do that same time as Khazzouh coming back to minimise the disruption.

Yeh I said MINIMIZE anon, don't understand that concept? Khazzouh returning will disrupt the rotation, bringing in the import later will disrupt it again. With injuries and professional nature of the game, dealing with disruption is part and parcel but given the chance you want to MINIMIZE it if you can, no professional team want changing rosters every bloody month as you get closer to post-season.

The returd that was unkind of Blake and the Kings. Have a read of this from the DT.
""We are 100 per cent supportive of Steve," Gaze said. “We always tell our players it's very important what we do. “We provide a lot of joy to people and as far as our goals you’ve got to make an enormous commitment and tremendous sacrifice, but family always comes first. “We would have loved to have had Steve continue on the journey that we are on, but he has family issues to take care of. “We care about the people more than the wins and losses.”
Suck a dick.

Gaze and JVG are quality people. Kings are in good hands.

No need to rush.
